Technical Writer - Vancouver - Hybrid


Imperva, a cybersecurity leader in on-Premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, is looking for a technical writer to be part of the documentation team. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to learn about new technologies, sharpen your writing skills, and grow together with an industry leading company that continues to evolve and protect some of the world’s most critical companies.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our technical writing department. The Technical Writing department’s mission is to provide high quality, accurate information that enables our users to understand, configure, and deploy Imperva products. You’ll be participating in a wide range of activities to support the creation and maintenance of our customer-facing documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing high-quality documentation in a demanding environment
  • Tracking new and improved features and preparing documentation for release
  • Participating in status meetings for features and releases
  • Interviewing SMEs to learn about new products and features
  • Adhering to documentation guidelines and procedures
  • Assisting with wording for microcopy, error messages, etc.
  • Supporting the operation of the technical writing department


Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in technical documentation
  • Team player, quick learner with the ability to learn independently
  • Good interpersonal/interviewing skills with the ability to know the right questions to ask
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation under tight deadlines with changing requirements
  • Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in any of the following: databases, networking, TCP/IP, cybersecurity
  • Experience with Author-It, Flare, Jira, Agile

The ideal candidate for this role should be:

  • Highly energetic, independent, and ready to work in a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities and short release cycles
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Technically savvy
  • A master at multi-tasking with the ability to see the big picture

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is CAD $90,000 – $108,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, other qualifications, and location.
