In this role, the Vice President/ GM, directs the activities of a designated TotalSource Region to meet profitability and growth objectives established for the business. Management of leaders responsible for HR and Account Management delivery (Field HR, Virtual HR, Retention Management), Payroll, Implementation, and client escalations and resolution.. Manages business cycles and resources needed to ensure successful delivery.
Responsible for all activities relating to the creation and accomplishment of regional financial plans and objectives, operating plan initiatives, client experience, associate engagement, associate retention, and talent development. Provides a considerable amount of focus on new business and existing clients' revenue. Works closely with sales leadership in growing the business, deal management, market challenges and competitiveness, competitor threats, pricing & revenue impact, alignment to service performance and VOC feedback, and good business management.
Manages sales promotions and on-boarding credits to ensure optimum sales performance and market profitability balance. Align by region to benefit Brokers and establish collaborative working relationship. Establishes responsibilities for attaining objectives. Evaluates results to determine if performance objectives are being met. Regarding the designated region: 1) attention to community engagement -- advocates, associations, community give back, 2) trends, competitor assessments and address acquisition/retention strategies, 3) regulatory and compliance awareness relative to local market/state, and 4) directs activities associates with new market entry.

Responsibilities:
Financial Excellence: Provides leadership to achieve Financial Excellence initiatives in the business as measured by: 1) Revenue; 2) Sales; 3) Net Operating Income (NOI); 4) Client Retention; and 5) NPS. Defines and measures HR & Account Management delivery resources. Ensures that the business meets or exceeds the state financial goals each fiscal year.
- Manages $650+ million (2nd largest region)
- Responds to internal and external requests for financial, client service, and other reporting requirements.
- Responsible for pricing the clients within the TotalSource guidelines.
- Responsible for Client profitability.
- Develops and maintains a sound plan of business unit organization. Ongoing management of resources to ensure accomplishment of profitability and business goals defined in the plans.
- Analyzes operating results of the market/region versus approved plans and objectives and takes adequate steps to correct shortfalls in performance.
- Directs talent requirements within local departments to meet profit plan objectives and capacity needs.
- Responsible for capital planning and expenditures consistent with TotalSource authorization levels.
Operational Excellence: Provides leadership to achieve operational excellence initiatives in the region by meeting or exceeding established metrics regarding: 1) Quality and compliance standards; 2) Operational efficiency; 3) Productivity methods, metrics, and enhancements; and 4) Project plans for product introductions.
- Represents ADP in relations with clients, suppliers, etc., while complying with TotalSource procedures. Works closely with the regional sales executive and sales to acquire new business within the TotalSource business model and to retain the business.
- Responsible for Client Experience and Engagement
- VOC activities -- NPS focus and goal attainment, client and WSE roundtable execution, 1:1 with client owners and attend prospect visits in order to keep TotalSource focused on what is important to our prospects and clients,
- Assist in definition of our role-based client experience strategies and,
- Modify service delivery based on feedback and congruent with business profitability and margin attainment.
Employer of Choice: Manages all of the service and operations staff to achieve the stated goals of the business. Assists SVP/GM and TotalSource leadership in the development of business strategies and strategic objectives, and the operating policies and procedures to assure attainment of Employer of Choice initiatives as measured by: 1) Associate engagement; 2) Associate turnover; and 3) Diversity.
- Establishes direction for staff in the attainment of Employer of Choice initiatives.
- Ensures that plans and policies are understood and administered by the department heads.
- Uses strategic objectives as basis for establishing performance management and incentive programs for the department heads and other incentive-based plans in the region for all associates.
- Directs acquisition, retention and continuing development of key human resources throughout the market.
- Assures establishment of recruiting, training and development programs, performance management and reward systems to attain the highest level of productivity for long-range success; systems to include provisions to meet all government laws and regulations.
- Establishes and maintains effective systems of communications with associates.
- Resolves conflicts between line/staff departments.
- Manages special projects as required.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- Bachelor's degree required, in business-related field preferred.
- Experience: 7 to 10 years' experience in a senior operations role in a fast-paced service environment. Experience or familiarity in HR Outsourcing (ASO, PEO, COS). Insurance/Healthcare industry a plus. Within the years of experience, must possess at least 5 years of successful and progressive managerial experience. Must possess great leadership qualities with the focus on a team-based approach using collaboration. Must possess integrity, ambition, and be results-oriented.
- Must have broad functional background and experience including managing remotely in the area of service and operations. Prior experience working with a recognized small and/or medium business services organization. Ability to manage effectively virtually with clients and associates. Must have a demonstrated ability in the following areas:
- Set and meet aggressive goals for operational effectiveness.
- Identify and develop talent across an organization.
- Work closely with sales to bring on and retain new business.
- Deal effectively with growth in sales and the existing client base.
- Must possess an "executive" presence and skills to build strong, working relationships from front-line people to senior executives. Must possess thorough knowledge and appreciation of quality and execution. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work under pressure with tight time frames.
- May consider a relocation package for well-qualified candidate not residing in the Tempe, AZ area
