Fanatics is also dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities where we all live, work, and play through strategic philanthropic initiatives. www.fanaticsinc.com Reporting to the Segment Controller of Fanatics Brands NA, this role will work directly with the local Latin American (“LATAM”) company management providing financial leadership by managing the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities, to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal, external, and statutory reporting requirements for operations across our companies. This role will also support corporate and technical accounting activities, including internal control and compliance activities. Bi-lingual and/or fluency in Spanish is required. To be successful in this job, you must be a forward-looking, initiative-taking leader with business experience in complex businesses, across multiple geographies and business channels. The successful must be a collaborative accounting professional with the background and people skills sufficient to function successfully in a growth-enabling and challenging position. The candidate must have the ability to embrace and assume “ownership” of various processes and reports. Attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills, and effective communication skills are important.

Job Functions:

    • Collection, tracking, analyzing, reporting and reconciliation of LATAM accounting activity on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
    • Supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close function, including compliance requirements to ensure a timely and accurate close.
    • Assist in compiling and supporting internal reporting requirements, including preparation of monthly and quarterly analytical and executive summary presentations (BS, P&L and cashflow analysis) and consolidation processes.
    • Review for posting (or as needed, prepare) required journal entries for certain international entities including inter-company and monthly expense allocations.
    • Review balance sheet account reconciliations and flux analysis for accounts.
    • Assist the corporate tax department with the development and management of the Company’s transfer pricing policies and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Improve financial metrics and status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
    • Provide recommendations to management on any updates to accounting policies and procedures for LATAM.
    • Prepare schedules related to inter-company activity and work directly with corporate company personnel to reconcile related activity.
    • Acquire a deep understanding of the business processes related to assigned general ledger accounts, including transaction flow.
    • Support LATAM company management with US GAAP conversion / compliance.
    • Perform duties in compliance with US GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
    • Provide recommendations for management updates and enhancements to the Company’s internal control processes and procedures.
    • Assist accounting management on all international accounting related issues.
    • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects requested by management.
    • Assist with maintenance of the Company’s global chart of accounts and general ledger system.
    • Support the Financial Reporting team with technical accounting activities, including implementation of new accounting standards, and other complex accounting rules.
    • Assist with development and management of business forecasts and budgets and track actual performance for LATAM companies.
    • Assist with quarterly and annual audit requests from external auditors or other compliance agencies.
    • Ad hoc project work as required by the Finance function, or business functions.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
    • Bi-Lingual or fluent Spanish speaker.
    • Minimum 6-8 years of accounting experience preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stringent deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize.
    • Must have strong analytical skills.
    • Must have excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
    • Ability to effectively work with multiple departments.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel working with complex formulas.
    • Must be proficient in US GAAP – IFRS knowledge is a bonus.
    • Experience with international businesses is preferred (ideally Latin America).
    • Working knowledge of tax/transfer pricing is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • ERP experience preferred.

Certification:

    • A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred for this role.
