Senior Manager, Accounting Shared Services: Objectives of the role: • Must be a forward looking, visionary leader with business experience in increasingly complex businesses, across geographies and business channels. Ability to translate vision to operational plans • Commitment and ability to create and help scale department to the next level • Work effectively in a high growth environment – comfortable in both individual contributor roles and cross-functional team management roles, depending on what is required by the business at the time • Demonstrate strong business and technical acumen, sufficient to gain credibility and trust with business partners, peers, and teams • Must be an experienced, collaborative accounting professional with the background and interpersonal skills sufficient to function successfully in a growth-enabling and challenging position. • Provide financial leadership by managing the general accounting and reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements • Demonstrates commitment to attracting, developing, and mentor accounting staff to build their professional career and maximize potential • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement mind-set and leading change within the department • Must demonstrate the ability to implement new concepts, ideas, integrate new tech and systems as needed. • Must have the ability to embrace and assume ownership of various processes and reports. • Demonstrate attention to detail, superior organizational and project management skills, and exceptional communication skills are important Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for managing shared services cash, GL, and payroll teams. Overall, 3 direct reports with teams underneath. • Responsible for month-end journal entry review/approval related to cash, GL, payroll entries as well as assigned balance sheet reconciliations. • Ensures financial controls in place are operating effectively and makes improvements where needed; recognizes if procedures are not followed and takes corrective action • Partner with internal and external auditors to maintain a strong internal control environment overall financial transactions and processes, and regularly monitor and assess risks • Demonstrate technical expertise and business acumen in the application of GAAP • Closely monitors the productivity of accounting staff to ensure targets are met, develops appropriate key performance measurements, and provides the necessary coaching, development, and training support to ensure the accounting team is actively engaged and operating at a high-performance level. • Build bench strength, develop talent, and preparing the organization for long-term growth (scale-up) • Blend of public accounting experience a plus or relevant industry experience Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field required • Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting or business finance • CPA designation a major plus • 8+ years’ practical accounting experience as team leader or individual contributor with a combination of public and private accounting background • Broad work experience very desirable • Solid foundation in GAAP, previous experience in accounting/audit/finance experience very desirable • Ability to effectively work with multiple departments, at all levels of the organization • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel – experience in Pivot Tables and VLookups are a + • Strong attention to detail Ensure your Fanatics job offer is legitimate and don’t fall victim to fraud.
