We are looking for a Product Security Engineer to join our Product Security team. This role will be located onsite in our Burnaby, BC office and reporting to the manager of Product Security Engineering. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the security and compliance of our products and systems, with a specific focus on Cloud and Application Security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify security gaps, develop robust security controls, and implement industry-leading practices.

You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy identifying problems and creating solutions for them and have the ability to communicate and collaborate well with internal teams.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct thorough security assessments of our products, including code review and threat modeling
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Design, develop, and implement security solutions to identify and mitigate security risks
• Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively address potential issues
• Participate in threat modeling exercises and provide security guidance for architectural decisions
• Collaborate with other security engineers to design and implement cloud security solutions
• Tune a SIEM and manage security tooling

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered
• Combined 4+ years of proven experience in information security and software development
• Good proficiency in software development languages such as Python, Golang, C++, etc.
• In-depth understanding of common application security vulnerabilities and effective mitigation strategies
• Experience with security testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and code review techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
• Security certifications such as Security+, C|EH, or similar are a plus
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

What success looks like:

After six months, you will...

• Know who the key stakeholders are and start building relationships with them
• Have a high-level understanding of the various service lines within Product Security Engineering
• Learn and execute current processes
• Work with other engineers to tune and validate effectiveness of security tooling

After about a year, you will...

• Be a dedicated Application Security resource for one of Infoblox’s products
• Understand the cloud architecture and security controls that support Infoblox’s SaaS products
