JOB SUMMARY
Marriott International operates and franchises hotels and branded residential properties around the world. The Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) practice group of Marriott’s Law Department provides legal advice and support for the development and operation of all Marriott-branded lodging products in the APEC region, including the full‐service Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, Le Meridien and Renaissance brands, luxury Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, St. Regis, Bulgari and EDITION brands, and Courtyard, Aloft, Four Points, Moxy and Fairfield brands.
This Assistant Manager, Legal Services position is an integral part of the Office of Entity Management (“OEM”) team who support the formation and administration of all the Marriott International entities. Including subsidiaries (wholly and/or partially owned), branches, joint ventures, and representative offices. This position is part of the Asia Pacific Law Department team based in Hong Kong and will be primary responsible for supporting the administration of entities in Asia Pacific. This position dual reports to the Vice President & Senior Counsel located in Hong Kong and the Director, Office of Entity Management located in Bethesda, Maryland. The position will be based in Hong Kong.
CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience - Three-year or four-year college degree and two or more years of relevant work experience preferably in a transactional or general corporate practice; OR
- At least four years of relevant work experience as a paralegal/manager.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Provide direct assistance on entity management to the various disciplines within Marriott as well as outside counsel in the various countries in Asia Pacific. This includes providing advice on entity related documents and agreements. Related work would include working with various Marriott teams (i.e., tax, accounting, legal, etc.) to manage entity related inquiries, as well as various internal governance matters.
- Posting and maintenance of standard forms of corporate documents in Blueprint (the Company’s in-house database) for use in the field.
- Management of entity related matters, liaising with external law firms, registered agents, and local authorities, drafting corporate documents, and maintaining the entity database as well as preparing reports regarding entity related information.
- Providing corporate documents and other required information relating to requests from local banks as well as requests from Marriott attorneys and the other various disciplines.
- Perform and analyzes legal and factual research of an intermediate degree of complexity to identify issues and relevant matters. Results are prepared in a clear, detailed, relevant and accurate manner.
- Advise clients regarding Marriott’s policy and procedures (i.e., SOPs, MIPs).
- Negotiate terms with external firms (to the extent applicable) when engaging their services related to entity management and compliance.
- Coordinate with local counsel to prepare and file the required local filings as part of the annual entity compliance.
- Work with the various Marriott disciplines and local counsel when incorporating or dissolving entities.
- Take direction from Marriott’s tax department to coordinate with local counsel, various restructurings, cash repatriations, etc.
- Respond as necessary to miscellaneous business issues as they relate to a particular entity.
- Assist in the business of Marriott while minimizing risk to Marriott.
