Staff Fullstack Engineer (Remote: LatAm)

We’re excited to welcome a Staff Fullstack Engineer who will work closely with teams across the company to ensure that we’re providing a secure, welcoming, and relevant payment experience, and that our systems are fully integrated, fault-tolerant and resilient – even at high volume. Note : this role can be held in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and Costa Rica.

What you'll do:

• Build product! You’ll contribute to features that help our global users easily join and engage with the platform.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives with the team (we work in agile here).
• Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, and performance considerations in mind.
• Act as the technical lead for our payments & compliance team in a number of meaningful ways, including mentorship of your engineering teammates (with an eye on helping them grow and develop their skills) and collaboration with key stakeholders from our finance, legal, executive and other teams.

Why we're excited about you:

• You have 6+ years of experience as an engineer with at least some prior experience in either a Staff Engineer or Technical Lead role.
• You’re ready to work with an existing code base: this role will lean towards the backend, and proficiency in PHP and node.js is expected (with additional frontend skills in React preferred).
• You’ve worked on projects related to payments (bonus points for experience with PayPal and/or Stripe integrations).
• You’re comfortable working in an event-driven way in a microservice architecture.
• You’ve helped build out scalable APIs. You are comfortable with REST and GraphQL (federated schemas are a plus).
• You understand industry standards in architecture, code quality, testing and technical documentation.
• You're a natural collaborator – you work seamlessly within and between teams.
• You're motivated by full ownership of your work and you’re passionate about the user, and eager to help our organization grow to meet their needs.
• You have strong skills in performance optimization.
• You have experience using a/b testing and analysis to drive measurable improvement in relevancy and user behavior.
