SUMMARY

Are you ready to unleash your potential as a Procurement Analyst and become the catalyst for success alongside the Manager of Procurement Services? From orchestrating procurement events to fostering customer engagement, both inside and outside our organization, can you handle the thrill?

The Procurement Analyst will be responsible to procure the inland transport supporting our FCL, LCL and air products. In this role you must secure the best mix of price and service to meet the requirements from both the customers as the C.H. Robinson global network.

The Procurement Analyst will assist the European Manager of inland Procurement Services in the day-to-day execution of procurement events but will also launch tenders/benchmarks on their own.

The accountability spans from; rate negotiations, carrier management, data preparation, managing submission of rates, quoting tool configuration, pricing RFQ’s to providing users with training.

Success in this role will require you to have a can-do attitude, have strong interpersonal communication skills, possess a commercial mindset and have a will to win. Next to that, your knowledge and network of contacts will be very valuable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage internal and external customer expectations and relationships
  • Identify, build, and maintain relationships with internal network of relationships
  • Transition relationships to carrier providers, customer stakeholders and TMS providers
  • Provide benchmarking and KPI support with customers
  • Help define internal and external project teams
  • Partner with stakeholders to gain commitment of project team resources
  • Lead and facilitate project tollgate meetings, responsible for results and customer sign off
  • Document project, scope, communications, and expectations
  • Support group methodology, tools, techniques, infrastructure, and presentations
  • Track hours of time spent by project, branch, and assignment in accordance with group guidelines
  • Resolve project issues and escalate when needed
  • Assess and manage project risk
  • Support gathering of post-engagement feedback and internal reviews
  • Responsible for quality, review, and delivery of all customer documents
  • Assist other groups, especially sales and account management teams
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of previous procurement, project management, or transportation experience
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and/or internationally)/Expected travel for 2 events per year

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Excel
  • Previous Project Management experience
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively influence and partner
  • Solid verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to the appropriate audience
  • Solid negotiation and influencing skills
  • Solid planning, problem solving/critical thinking skills, and ability to execute plan
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently and effectively with strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving, analytical, critical thinking skills and ability to make decisions/recommendations
