Job Description
We are looking for an Artist & Label Partnerships (ALP) Manager for South India to join the team in India - a team that is focused on helping artists grow. You will handle two of the four markets (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam) depending on your proficiency and comfort on the same. The role primarily is to ensure that our partners (key labels, independent artists, managers, distributors and aggregators across the South Indian languages) see Spotify as the #1 partner for artist development and monetization. Focusing on the South Indian music landscape, you will work closely with the team to complete local critical initiatives as well as your international counterparts on global campaigns. You will also use this relationship to further Spotify’s marketing and distribution initiatives to the mutual benefit of Spotify and its industry partners. Most importantly, you have fun at work and the desire to be creative and make a positive impact on the music industry as a whole.
What you`ll do
- Be the face of Spotify across all artists and labels that you handle
- Create, build and maintain positive relationships across the artist and label community
- Work closely with artists and labels on all important and priority releases in your territory and help make it a success on Spotify
- Educate our key artist & label partners on Spotify tools and resources, which help them optimise their impact on their listeners
- Use all the internal tools and data to find opportunities for Spotify to build differentiation in the market
- Enable a deeper artist and artist-fan engagement with Spotify
- Work in partnership with the local and global editorial teams to ensure content strategies are localized and efficiently implemented
- Work cross-functionally with other internal teams to fulfill company strategic goals and cross-functional projects
- Be an advocate for Spotify’s interests and initiatives externally within the creator community
- Ensure Spotify has the best possible content offering in your territory and use this to further Spotify’s appeal to existing and new users
- Develop methodologies and efficiencies to be an outstanding partner to our partners
- Attend key events, conferences, and shows. Some travel required (depending on laws and restrictions)
Who you are
- You have a minimum of 5 years experience in the event/artist management/client management/ media company in the region, with a successful track record.
- You have a strong understanding of the South Indian music industry and are passionate about working closely with artists and music labels in that space in India
- You have a strong communication skills in English, and are proficient in speaking two of the four South Indian languages
- You are numerate and adept at analyzing and interpreting data to use it to set goals
- You have excellent negotiating, presentation and people skills
- A post graduate degree in Business Management will be a plus
- You are fully conversant with the latest digital marketing techniques
- You are well organized, dedicated, with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines while being detail oriented
- You have experience of working across multiple markets within Southern India with local and global teams
