Job Summary

The Director, Operations position is responsible for the overall leadership of Electrical Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions, with multi-site plant cost out facilities geographically dispersed across the region. This position will lead across functional areas (e.g. manufacturing, quality, operational excellence, supply chain, logistics, production, inventory and materials management, purchasing, EHS), working closely with other Electrical business and functional leaders to ensure standardization and establishment of performance metrics. This role is also responsible to develop and implement Electrical’ s manufacturing strategy to support achievement of the organization’s financial metrics/goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and deploy manufacturing work model focusing on global lean initiatives, standardized process control, strategy and support for manufacturing excellence

Ensure the effective implementation and build-out of EBS to achieve Eaton directives, operational performance objectives and customer expectations. Support the Eaton Business Excellence Certification efforts for pace and maintenance of those certifications in all operations per the schedule required in the certification process.

Oversee governance and improvement actions related to key High 5 metrics including OTD, DOH, EEHS, Productivity, and CoNC

Provide expert knowledge in lean concepts and quality systems to the operations. Continuously improve knowledge through benchmarking and active participation in industry groups

Provide global oversight for total quality systems through the deployment and sustainment of the Eaton Quality System. Drive continuous improvement in the quality systems across the Latam Electrical Sector.

Develop and execute global strategic sourcing model and materials organization that enhance total customer satisfaction through commodity expertise in technology, quality, responsiveness and supplier relationship building. Support customer platform initiatives.

Achieve business objectives for material productivity improvement, supplier quality / delivery improvement and new program/product launches.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; MBA preferred.

• 10 plus years senior level operations management experience with progressive organizations focused on step-function improvements in cost, quality and business process improvement. Demonstrated ability in strategic process creation and implementation

• Management and development of Operational Excellence function throughout an operation and across an organization including functional groups

• Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing systems processes, products, and customers

• Strong background in goal deployment, strategic planning and building organizational capability.

• Technically proficient in all areas of manufacturing management, OpEx, supply chain management, and quality systems

• Extensive global experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a global cross-functional team in the development and implementation of cross-business SCM initiatives / commodity strategies.
