The Director, Global Learning Delivery, is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of all live/virtual live learning experiences globally for Splunk's customers, partners and employees. This role will be responsible for delivery processes and operations but most importantly leading and motivating a team of delivery managers and their teams of instructors globally, ensuring the best learning experiences. They will need to be effective partners with the broader Splunk business (Product, Field, Customer Success) as well as collaborate with the entire education organization including Technical Enablement, Curriculum Managers, Certification, External Learning Partners, Learning Success Managers, and Operations teams to ensure visibility into the needs of the business, promotion, coordination, and impactful execution of learning globally.

The ideal candidate is experienced in leading all aspects of learning delivery including operations, forecasting, scheduling and resourcing, administration, expense management, customer service, people/team leadership including technical and instructor readiness, and vendor management. This individual must also possess strong technical and analytical skills and be comfortable leveraging data to drive decision-making that optimizes operational processes, learner satisfaction and team success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the learner-facing delivery team of managers and instructors to oversee and drive the day-to-day administration and delivery of Splunk training courses and programs globally.
  • Design and execute on a comprehensive delivery strategy that ensures process optimization, global governance, measurement and feedback, and effective internal/external instructor readiness and management.
  • Collaborate and engage seamlessly across multiple internal and external stakeholders, to ensure timely planning, scheduling, fulfillment, and measurement of education and enablement
  • Manage partner and vendor selection and contract negotiations to drive acceptable margins around delivery expenses while ensuring the best learning experience.
  • Partner across Splunk education to measure and improve key metrics around delivery efficiency and quality, instructor utilization, expense management, and business financials (revenue, margin)
  • Monitor customer, partner and employee learner feedback as well as emerging learning needs or requests, ensuring timely visibility, escalation, and resolution across the delivery and education team
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of delivery managers and instructors focused on providing consistently high-quality learning experiences.
  • Develop and manage an efficient process for ensuring the ongoing readiness (up-skilling and cross training) of our instructor delivery team to meet the evolving business needs.
  • Bring thought leadership and best practices to the team for delivery execution excellence, alongside future delivery models and strategy

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD in high-tech, education, communication, or business
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience with proven ability to develop and lead a high-performing team
  • Enterprise Software / SaaS experience with demonstrated ability to work in a global, complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs
  • Strong leadership skills appropriate to a fast-paced business environment and a matrix organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge of learning excellence and demonstrated ability to deliver learning programs (virtual and classroom-based instructor-led training (ILT), peer-to-peer learning, and eLearning)
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills: comfortable leveraging data to drive operational decisions
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to problem solve in the moment with both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), relationship management and influencing skills at all levels in an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create operational processes and infrastructure, while also driving innovation and change, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of learning delivery

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and benefits, and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $190,400 - 261,800 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $172,800 - 237,600 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $156,800 - 215,600 per year
