Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Instructor to join the team and help us deliver world class training to our customers and partners both nationally and worldwide. In this role you will perform instructional delivery of approved course materials. You will be teaching multiple courses with varying formats. Candidates must be able to self-start and work on their own but essentially must be able to effectively work within a team. Candidates must be willing to teach classes virtually as well as at Splunk partner, customer, and contract facilities. In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to lead major departmental projects and effectively work cross-functionally with members of other departments. You will be viewed as a leader and mentor by other team members and deliver multiple, technically advanced courses.

Responsibilities:

● Teaches multiple advanced technical classes.
● Regularly participates in cross-functional projects.
● Leads major projects within the department.
● Manages multiple projects/tasks with minimal supervision.
● Consistently meets or exceeds goals and/or project milestones.
● Communicates effectively, both verbally and written, with management, team members, and other departments.
● Anticipates and resolves common problems.
● Balances long and short term goals by prioritizing activities.
● Actively participates in curriculum planning sessions for new product training.
● Reviews training curriculum and provides feedback to instructional designers.
● Adapts well to changing job and project requirements.
● Recommends and implements solutions when project issues arise.Requirements:

● Experience working as a Senior-level Technical Instructor within Education Services for an Enterprise Software Company.
● Knowledge: Current Unix/Linux shell, Linux Administration, command-line, vi and/or Nano editor experience a must!
● Technical and troubleshooting skills in at least one software application or technology.● Excellent oral presentation and customer interaction skills.
● Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
● Must be able to obtain a current passport and can travel to other countries and regions without restriction.
● CISSP (Certified Security Specialist) a plus
● Certified Splunk Architect and have experience with Phantom and Splunk Enterprise Security (desirable)
● Ability to teach in multiple languages a plus, especially Spanish or Portuguese (advantage)
Education:
● BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in a technical or related field is required.

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and benefits, and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $116,000.00 - 159,500.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $104,800.00 - 144,100.00 per year
