Creative Assistant, Books and IP Scouting

Job Description

Netflix is seeking a Creative Assistant to provide support for our IP Scouting Team in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is able to exercise good judgment and significant initiative.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reading and reviewing a high volume of IP (books, comics, audio content, etc.,) in a timely manner, comprehensively evaluating its adaptation potential, and sharing such evaluation in writing, or verbally
• Capturing, drafting and editing coverage and reports on IP including but not limited to books, articles, comics, graphic novels, manga, video games and audio content such as podcasts or audio plays
• An ability to research older and/or non-English language material
• Maintaining calendars for 2 executives including booking and confirming meetings
• Scheduling meetings & calls, internally & externally
• Managing the flow of incoming and outgoing material
• Maintain internal systems to track projects and their statuses
• Taking notes in meetings and circulating information to the greater team
• Coordinate travel arrangements (domestic and international) and other administrative duties (i.e. processing travel and expense reports, digital and physical filing, etc...)
• Heavy communication internally and externally
• The ability to assist with team projects and events as needed
• Managing and organizing incoming and outgoing submissions

Qualifications:

• Previous entertainment or publishing industry experience preferred
• Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting
• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
• Strong writing and reading comprehension skills and the ability to multitask
• Proficiency in Google docs, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Prior experience reading books and providing coverage preferred
