Role description

The objective is to Maximize Global Value Creation (GVC), which is one of the Key strategic Initiative of the Finance and Strategy function, and one of the company How to Win Strategies.

The GVC mission is to Maximize Value Creation, by enabling horizontal transformational projects and ongoing initiatives that help brands and affiliates deliver increased cost savings, accelerate sales growth, reduce working capital and build new capabilities.

Currently the GVC initiative includes 8 Projects (e.g. Demo/Selling Effectiveness, New Product Launch, Retail Operating Systems) and 8 on-going initiatives (e.g. COGS, Indirect Procurement, Returns)

Key responsibilities:

1) Enable GVC Projects/Initiatives.

  • The Vice President GVC interfaces regularly, on each Project/Initiative, with the relevant Executive Business Owners (normally a member of the Company Lead Team), the Project Owner, and Project Manager, to agree and align the Business case, the Project charter, the Design and Implementation plan, the Resource requirements, as well as the KPIs by FY for the Long Range Plan and the FY plan.
  • The VP GVC needs to enable and enforce effective project management, Value creation metrics and effective and sustainable implementation.

2) Lead GVC governance:

  • Lead the Global Value Council, the GVC governing body, that is a sub-set of the Company Lead Team, with brand, regional and functional leadership. The Council meets every other month to oversee the portfolio of value creation initiatives, prioritize and pace the resources, set targets, measure performance and enforce excellent and sustainable execution. The GVC team organizes the meeting calendar, agenda planning, ensures meeting effectiveness, drives action item reviews, aligns key stakeholders with pre-GVC meetings and ensures proper communication.
  • Assess every 6 months the Project Management Effectiveness of each GVC Projects and recommends actions to the Project Executive Business Owner. Also, assess every 6 months the individual performance of each Project Manager and share it with the Project Owner with indicated actions
  • Develop, monitor and manage the necessary systems to track, oversee and report the GVC results

3) Value Discovery:

  • Lead financial analysis, operational reviews, best practice surveys, and benchmarking (internal and external) to discover new areas of value creation
  • Initiate new initiatives, new GVC led-efforts or new capabilies, as illuminated by analyses or senior management directives

4) Performance Measurement and Management:

  • Lead the Company KPI dashboard process and tools to measure the key Value Creation performances across each Business unit
  • Coordinate yearly KPI target setting and building blocks
  • Drive and enable performance management with Gap analysis and closing
  • Engages the Global Process Owners in the definition and tracking of PI (performance Indicators) and PPI (Process Performance Indicators) to analyze and improve performance

Organization

The role reports to the SVP Brand Finance and Strategy and GVC. There are 7 direct reports:

  • VP GVC Marketing and Commercial ops
  • VP Corporate Master Planning
  • ED Gross to Net and GVC Analytics
  • ED Supply Chain Finance
  • ED GVC – EMEA
  • Senior Director GVC – APAC
  • D GVC – NA

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • MBA in Finance preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Strategy development and implementation, Financial Planning and Analysis, Supply Chain Finance, Project and Change Management and People management.
  • Demonstrated Consulting and/or Project management/Transformation experience with design and implementation skills and experience.
  • Strong financial forecasting, analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and business advisory skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to build relationships globally.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and writing skills.
  • Organization development skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving and delivering results.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and matrix environment.
  • International travel required 4-5 times per year.

U.S Corporate/Office Exempt Roles (Equity Eligible)
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $238,000 to $404,000. Exact salary depends on several
factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on
geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a
highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance
and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
