As the Director of Europe Surface Transportation Mar keting, your primary responsibility is leading the European Surface Transport marketing, public relations, and corporate communications strategy in collaboration with the business leaders and the Global Marketing team.

This role will proactively work with divisional and marketing teams to determine priorities and direct marketing resources. A proactive and persistent approach, along with an understanding of C.H. Robinson's business, technology, and customers/carriers, as well as an ability to work collaboratively across all stakeholder groups will be keys to success in this role.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial marketing skills with an understanding of digital marketing strategies to drive lead, adoption, and utilization; thrives in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment and has experience collaborating in a matrixed environment.

You will work and partner with a network of internal stakeholders and apply a customer/carrier-centric perspective to everything you do. Your role is to help ensure marketing initiatives align with business goals. The marketing team in Europe is relatively compact (two team members - Communication Manager and Digital Marketing Manager). A successful Director of this team is a strong partner for divisional Senior Leadership, a team player, innovative and able to translate global initiatives into local needs, understands the bigger picture, and is energized by getting things done together.

You and your team will be accountable for the planning, execution, and oversight of European marketing channels: PR/Media, Internal/External Communication, Digital Marketing and Lead Generation

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work directly with customers/carriers to develop value proposition messaging
• Build and develop EU marketing strategy to drive awareness, relevancy, and business growth
• Build strong partnership with EU business leaders and the global marketing teams to constantly innovate the product/services provided, ensuring it is differentiated in the marketplace
• Direct marketing resources across all functions
• Lead implementation of EU marketing strategy including messaging development, demand generation through marketing channels, campaigns, events, and content development
• Maintain P&L ownership for marketing budget; ensure business goals are met with greatest efficiency.
• Cultivate a high performing team by building skills through coaching, mentoring and ongoing training and development
• Execute PR strategies through managing media relationships, reviewing editorial calendars, selling and pitching story ideas, drafting press releases, attending media events, engaging at industry conferences, and seeking out speaking opportunities and award programs to ensure C.H. Robinson appears in appropriate areas
• Work with creative professional team to develop and execute high quality, strategically sound and thoroughly planned marketing campaigns with measurable sales impact with a strong focus on return on investment
• Manage and execute Europe marketing, PR and internal communication operations, and ensure close collaboration with U.S. based team(s) and resources
• Have access and accountability to senior level resources involved in strategy
• Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• +7 years of marketing experience, B2B and Service marketing experience preferred
• 3+ years of experience in managing teams
• Able to influence others
• Creative and innovative
• Collaborative team player with proven ability to work across department functions and business teams
• Willingness to work hands-on
• Strong business acumen – experience in managing a P&L
• Organizational savvy
• Ability to travel up to 20% (mainly across Europe, occasionally traveling to the United States)
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of other European languages (besides English)
