Freight Business Analyst

Job Description

The Role

The Freight Business Analyst designs, builds and maintains Freight Sourcing and invoicing processes/tools to ensure control of service and pricing as per contractual agreements.
They collaborate cross functionally with internal and external business partners to control costs, provide spend insights and therefore contributes to effective business decision making.

In this role you will:
● Liaise internally with finance, accounts payable, sourcing, logistics, planning, GL and accrual teams, IT and BI functions
● Manage invoicing for +20 logistics vendors efficiently and effectively
● Develop scalable, automated, and standardized auditing programs to audit
periodically monthly financial statements
● Drive Business Intelligence solutions
● Lead freight audits and communication
● Contribute to cost savings and cost avoidance projects
● Manage the implementation of new freight auditors
● Manage the onboarding of new freight suppliers
● Communicate with all vendors to ensure financial statements are correct and
approved, triggering a vendor bulk invoicing
● Submit accrual reports to finance counterparts and creates cost allocation files for accounts payable to upload
● Implement and manage outsourced freight audit companies
● Ensure billing function and execution complies with both sourcing maintained rate cards as well as contractual agreements
● Ensure that accruals are set accurately and completely

Qualifications

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:
● Academic degree in Business Administration/ Finance

● Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a global environment
● Strong analytical skills coupled with a hands-on and flexible approach
● MS Excel wizard, Tableau knowledge, Pandas (Python), SQL is a plus
● Business savvy, knowledgeable of logistics terms and conditions as well as operational execution related to billing
● Excellent communication skills, good team player able to propose initiatives
● Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and work in a global matrix organization
● Continuous improvement mindset

● Fluent written and spoken English
