ROLE:

As a Design System Intern (Remote), you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts committed to developing the next generation of our system. You will work alongside multiple designers and collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.

The Splunk internship program runs for a minimum of 10 weeks, up to a maximum of 12 consecutive weeks with start dates between May and June 2023. Applicants should be available to participate full-time (40 hours/week) in an internship during this time. This role will report to a dedicated Design System manager within our Design organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Design System Intern, you will be responsible for ...

• Collaborating and working with team members on designing system components
• Helping to update component documentation for design patterns
• Working proactively to help maintain and improve the design system
• Partnering with engineering and product teams to ensure that design artifacts and prototypes are clearly communicated and prepared for successful implementation
• Identifying opportunities for user testing and partnering with user experience researchers

REQUIREMENTS:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, and strong record of academic achievement with a graduation date of December 2023 or later.
• Interest in working on an integrated design system
• Interest in systems thinking and organizational processes
• You enjoy working well with others in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• You bring enthusiasm for solving interesting problems

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay: $48.00 per hour

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay: $45.00 per hour

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay: $42.00 per hour
