Job Description

The Senior Manager of Performance Marketing manages Conversion Media on behalf of the North America E-Commerce Team including Search (Paid Brand Search and Organic / SEO), Display and Affiliate programs. This position is a key collaboration partner for the North America Consumer Engagement Team, which manages Non-Brand Paid Search as well as Digital Awareness and Consideration Marketing. This person needs to have a proven track record of driving ecommerce sales through effective and cost-efficient marketing programs. This role requires a combination of analytical, strategic, and creative thinking to manage revenue goals while staying ahead of industry and channel trends.

This position will play an active role in developing marketing and merchandising strategies that pertain to major launches, with a focus on developing product specific acquisition and conversion campaigns. This role will own the execution and reporting of these marketing programs while closely collaborating with all cross-functional teams to achieve our E-Commerce goals.

Reports to the Director, NA Ecommerce, CRM, Loyalty & Performance Marketing, MAC Cosmetics. Works collaboratively with the broader Online team, creative, and consumer engagement teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Paid Search, Display, Paid Social

  • Work with agency to execute Paid Search (Brand and Non-Brand), Paid Social (conversion efforts), and Display campaigns.
    • Ensure highest volume of sales return.
    • Optimize programs and creative.
  • Create test plan, incorporating response analysis to optimize campaigns.
  • Monitor, track and report on campaign performance on an ongoing basis while at the same time focusing on the competitive trends adjusting spend as necessary.
  • Work with internal functions (Creative, Copy, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to coordinate and develop all copy and creative assets necessary to support all channel programs.
  • Work with internal teams to guide creative development, clarifying objectives, maintaining creative look and feel, as well as project timelines.
  • Manage necessary data for online reporting and database maintenance.

Organic / SEO

  • Continuously monitor the US and CA sites to ensure they are optimized to current trends. Collaborate with NOAM Marketing to align SEO efforts with Market Priorities.
  • Liaise directly with vendor to optimize traffic and sales through the natural search channel.
  • Analyze performance (e.g., changes in search ranks) on an ongoing basis, and develop recommendations for optimal results while maintaining budget. Influence where necessary to adopt recommendations, and work with internal teams (e.g., Creative, Copy, Engineers, Production) to execute on recommendations and measure success.

Affiliate Marketing

  • Managing specific Affiliate line of A&P: oversee Affiliate partners to optimize programs, establish, measure and report on program performance.
  • Work with internal functions (Creative, Copy, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to coordinate and develop all copy and creative assets necessary to support all channel programs.
  • Collaborate with E-commerce promotions lead to build Affiliate-exclusive offers; collaborate with Content/Storytelling lead to ensure acquisition-specific needs are met while aligned with overarching brand programming.
  • Evaluate programming opportunities with existing and prospective Affiliate Partners.

Online Analytics & Reporting for MACCosmetics.com

  • Gather data for analysis of sales and program performance regularly for online marketing and retail campaigns and drive the conversations with cross-functional and online partners to implement recommendations for how to improve performance.
  • Own the measurement and reporting of optimal ROI for marketing programs to determine best allocation for budgets.
  • Own the analysis of key business metrics, marketing programs, customer retention, and cost of customer acquisition programs.
  • Report and analyze on marketing and promotional programs.
  • Forecast traffic driven by these channels and work with planning teams to estimate future revenue goals.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years related web marketing/ecommerce business experience. College degree required.
  • Direct to consumer or digital agency experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in identifying innovative ideas and strategies to optimize marketing spend through pursuing new partner relationship(s), data analyses, and test & learns.
  • Entrepreneurial spirt / ‘outside the box’ thinking and having the confidence to test new and innovative approaches.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; Strong organizational skills; Pro-active problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a brand advocate and team player.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Aptitude for working with Internet tools (i.e. web-based reports, databases and various multimedia technologies).
  • Thorough understanding of website metrics, data analysis, and reporting tools.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $156,000. Exact salary depends on several
factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on
geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a
highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance
and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
