Job Description
It’s an exciting time to be at Infoblox. Named a Top 25 Cyber Security Company by The Software Report and one of Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2020, we are leading the way to next-level DDI with our Secure Cloud-Managed Network Services, bringing next-level security, reliability, and automation to cloud and hybrid systems—all managed through a single pane of glass. Our success depends on bright, energetic, talented people who share a passion for building the next generation of networking technologies—and having fun along the way.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager I to join our Products and Corporate Development team, reporting to a product management director for Network Services. This role can be located in our Burnaby, BC office, or remotely from home anywhere in Canada. In this role, you will define the roadmap and ensure successful delivery of Infoblox’s SaaS-managed DDI solution specific to asset discovery, network automation, and network source of truth. You will conduct market research; interact with customers, the sales teams, and partners; prioritize use cases; define requirements to Engineering, and enable cross-functional teams to bring the features to market.
In this exciting and rapidly evolving area of Software as a Service (SaaS), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and hybrid cloud, you will be instrumental in introducing networking services solutions that will shape the market and the company direction. You’ll be in the unique position of using technical and social skills while meeting with customers and working with a wide range of company functional groups as you translate problems into solutions. The Infoblox product management group is a fun, helpful, bright, creative group respected in the industry and relies heavily on direction and strategy.
You’re the ideal candidate if you are passionate about building products that customers love, thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to define and roll out network services and security products that deliver on the company’s vision and strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Develop subject matter expertise in asset discovery, network change and configuration management (NCCM), network automation, and network source of truth
- Work with Business Development to represent Infoblox in network discovery and NCCM vendor partnership meetings working towards integrations that benefit customers using Infoblox DDI
- Specify requirements for current and future asset discovery and network automation integrations by conducting research supported by ongoing, intimate knowledge of existing customers, partners, and competitors
- Work closely with engineering on a regular basis, driving decisions on feature/cost trade-off, ROI, and impact on customer experience
- Develop GTM (go-to-market) plans and deliverables—such as customer/partner NDA presentations, technology overviews, sales training, FAQs, and white papers—aimed at enabling rapid market adoption of asset discovery, network automation, and DDI network source of truth; and then work with relevant teams to execute the plans
- Develop business cases for new concepts, such as opportunity size, financial impact, market share, cost of sales, and profitability expectations
- Drive the market analysis, product strategy, and definition, competitive analysis, partner interaction, and customer management associated with our products
- Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve in features, positioning, price, etc
- Develop and communicate positioning of specific products and solutions to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena
- Lead beta and customer evaluation programs
What you’ll bring:
- A minimum of 5 years of product management experience in the field of network management (network discovery, NCCM, network automation, and/or network performance management)
- Experience with SaaS-managed solutions
- Familiarity with network service protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, SSH/SCP, REST, SNMP, and Syslog
- Familiarity with networking engineering routing and switching protocols
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, containers/microservices, and deployment methodologies, including VMware, OpenStack, and Docker
- Familiarity with the major orchestration players in the field of Data Center automation, including Ansible and Terraform
- Ability to capture and articulate customer problems and translate those into product strategy and requirements
- Ability to lead internal cross-functional teams to successfully deliver features
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with partners, customers, and sales teams, particularly in difficult or challenging situations
- Networking certification (CCNA, CCIE) is a plus
What success looks like:
After six months, you will...
- Own the roadmap for network asset discovery integrations with an Infoblox DDI product line
- Relied on prioritizing asset discovery integration opportunities brought in by the business development team
- Lead sales presentations and overviews on Infoblox asset discovery, network automation, and network source of truth solutions
After about a year, you will ...
- Influence the direction of all asset discovery and network automation solutions for the entire Infoblox product line
- Have experience to define SaaS-specific features related to continuous delivery, and instrumentation to collect and report on customer usage, and AI/ML
