Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will have experience with 2+ years in the E-commerce/Retail industry , 2+ years of manual/automation work, and end-to-end testing experience in an Agile environment. This role reports to the QA Lead and will be hybrid with a quarterly in-office attendance required and determined by your manager.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute software test specifications, test plans, test cases, and test scripts and present documentation to ensure technical completeness and accuracy for automation
  • Perform hands-on manual testing for functionality and usability
  • Help in planning an automation re-architecture effort & managing large-scale end-to-end testing/automation strategies while coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Analyze requirements, and perform ambiguity analysis to ensure that requirements meet design specifications and standards
  • Proficiency in Javascript and creating automated scripts with said language.
  • Automating using Playwright is preferred but not required.
  • Identify and investigate issues found during testing, assist software engineers and product managers in troubleshooting, and update test cases based on discovered defects
  • Contribute to standards and procedures for measuring product quality and release readiness
  • Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts
  • Optimize performance of test execution for backend, desktop, and mobile
  • Support UAT initiatives by providing data setup, access, and troubleshooting issues
  • Work as part of our agile team to deliver high-quality experiences for our users

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of progressive QA/testing experience
  • 2+ years experience in automation, creating scripts, execution, and troubleshooting using automation tools
  • Have collaborated with cross-functional teams (i.e. developers, Product Managers, Marketing, etc.) to ensure testing as a first-class citizen from requirements to delivery
  • You have a strong philosophy around QA, testing, and Automation. You know how to apply that to ensure the quality of our software
  • Experience with various automation tools - test automation for mobile and web (i.e. Testcafe, Puppeteer, Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript/Typescript and previous experience using said language within an automation framework
  • You have used a project management system like Jira and have experience with content management systems
  • You have designed, implemented, and maintained an automation framework
  • You are proactive, detail-oriented, and are able to work on multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)

Compensation Package:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards program that also includes benefits, bonus, equity and various social and professional investment opportunities at Away. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Away to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

  • Salary Range: $128,000 - $135,000 annually
  • This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined on an annual basis at the discretion of the company
  • Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company
