Job Description:

As the ServiceNow Platform Owner you will be responsible for the direction and management of the ServiceNow Platform. You will be driving the strategic direction of the ServiceNow platform to align with business strategy, roadmap, and platform governance. As well as leading the ongoing service design by planning, implementation, and the maintaining of the ServiceNow roadmap. Your focus will be on providing a seamless user experience for our end users as well as maximizing the value in the business outcomes provided by the ServiceNow Platform. It is a high-profile role, in which you’ll have plenty of opportunities to impact all areas of Avalara's business.

Key Responsibilities:

As the ServiceNow Platform Owner, you’ll handle a wide portfolio of stakeholders across business units at Avalara, each with their own backgrounds, strengths and ambitions, so no day will be the same. That could mean working to improve our internal customers’ experience in IT, HR, Customer Service, Facilities, Risk, Legal or other capabilities through ServiceNow. Wherever you find yourself, you’ll be making a visible impact on projects that cross boundaries and challenge conventional wisdom to encourage transformation. You’ll collaborate across the globe, facilitating interesting conversations and working cross-functionally across Avalara, you will need to personally understand and influence. In this role, you will lead a tight-knit team in a rapidly growing area of Avalara's technology team that consists of ServiceNow Business Analysts and ServiceNow Developers at Avalara.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (or equivalent experience) required
  • Minimum of 7 years of ServiceNow experience in large complex environments
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience in information technology
  • Acting as a leader across all aspects of ServiceNow project and solution delivery
  • A customer-focused approach to work demonstrated by using a deep understanding of ServiceNow and directing project teams to tailor improvement strategies and transformative opportunities precisely to their specific circumstances.
  • Provide expert advice to internal teams on the ServiceNow application and how this can be used to address business problems
  • Drive continuous improvement of implementation methodology and service offerings based on client experience
  • Responsible for understanding business and technical problems addressed by the products including key regulations, business drivers, evolving business needs, security etc.
  • Providing trusted advice on how digital transformation and technology enablement can lead to improved performance
