The Global VP Corporate Events will use leadership and problem-solving skills to lead the daily operation of the Corporate Events teams with a focus on customer service and satisfaction. This is includes both internal events, as well as those that support our clients.
The team will have direct influence on Activation, Culinary and Corporate Events globally (through direct reporting lines and through establishing requirements for regional representatives to follow).
This position is a newly created role which reports to the Senior Vice President Corporate Services, and is responsible for leading the global team’s governance, strategy, and operations around ‘hospitality’, including:
Basic Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
• 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree in Hospitality and/or Event Management, operations, and strategy
• Experience working for a large global organization
• Strong people manager
• Proven decision making and problem-solving capabilities with strong follow up skills and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional ability to translate ideas and thoughts in written presentations
• Demonstrated exceptional project management, organization and planning skills applied in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
• Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the company
• Challenges the status-quo, looks for innovative solutions that help simplify processes
• Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action, demonstrates strong listening, written and oral communication skills
• Comprehensive understanding of the meetings and events industry ecosystem
• Experience with analytical and financial data
• Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
• Is a brilliant relationship builder with a natural ability to influence and motivate individuals and teams
• Is a skilled communicator and negotiator with a laser focus on the finest detail
• Team player with flexibility to accommodate different personalities and work styles as well as confidence to manage interactions and expectations at all levels of the organization
• Flexibility for travel and to work evening hours and some weekends depending on event schedule
