The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products and next-generation technologies that transform the customer experience. Job Description

Overview of the Role:

  • Responsible for managing existing automation tools and development of new automation tools/systems.
  • Responsible for planning and designing of infrastructure & core routing of commercial network.
  • Plays an important role in the deployment of core devices at Edge locations.
  • Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Solid scripting skills required, in any of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, and MySQL
  • Proficient in the understanding and practical application of programming the network versus configuring networks
  • Service provider experience
  • Experience with platform operating systems such as: IOS, Nokia (TiMOS), and JUNOS (IOS XR preferred)
  • Very Solid understanding of IP routing/switching protocol(ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
  • Solid grasp of IPv4, IPv6, and QOS
  • Very organized individual with the ability to handle multiple projects, lead and/or participate on multiple project teams
  • Proven business skills to interact with internal business units and external vendors
  • Additional experience in server-based technology, such as Microsoft and Unix is a plus
  • Prior network engineering and support experience. Generally, requires 5+ years of related experience.

Other desirable skills not limited to:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technology related field
  • Preferred certification - CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CCIE

About the TEAM:

This team is made up of 10 Engineers. There primary responsibilities include the launching and managing of Edge devices at Customer, 3rd party and Data Center locations. They also manage capacity on those devices, and pro-actively provides support for future needs. These Edge devices are Cisco, Juniper, Nokia & Ciena. Other team functions include the Metro-E & Cell Back Haul services that are being designed/provisioned on these Edge devices.

We work with different groups such as market, division to complete the launch of the Edge device. We also solve the issues if the Operations team needs assistance. This team uses a few automation tools/applications which help us to perform day to day job. We maintain those tools, add new features or develop new applications. Coding/Scripting skill are a necessity for this role.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
