Job Description

It's an exciting time to be at Infoblox. Named a Top 25 Cyber Security Company by The Software Report and one of Inc. magazine's Best Workplaces for 2020, Infoblox is the leader in cloud-first networking and security services. Our solutions empower organizations to take full advantage of the cloud to deliver network experiences that are inherently simple, scalable, and reliable for everyone. Infoblox customers are among the largest enterprises in the world and include 70% of the Fortune 500, and our success depends on bright, energetic, talented people who share a passion for building the next generation of networking technologies—and having fun along the way.

We are looking for a Head of Corporate Communications to join our Business Operations team reporting to the VP of Corporate Marketing. In this remote role, you will lead our external communication efforts to ensure that the market knows Infoblox. Our company's culture, mission, strategy, and achievements are yours to amplify! You will work across various teams to scale the Infoblox story as we enter the next phase of our high-growth journey. You will be responsible for public and analyst relations, social media, thought leadership, and corporate messaging. This is a key role for Infoblox that requires an innate curiosity in identifying and developing compelling stories about Infoblox and our solutions. A successful candidate must have extensive public and corporate communications experience within the technology sector, demonstrate outstanding writing skills, and have a passion for building, promoting, and expanding global brands.

You're the ideal candidate if you have a proven track record of developing and building a program in a fast-paced and global organization. You can build credibility and earn the trust of the press, analysts, C-suite executives, and counsel executives on a wide range of communication programs. You are cooperative rather than competitive, willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done, and open to new ideas.

What you'll do:

  • Leverage our influencer channels to support Infoblox's pivot to be both a Networking AND SECURITY company (a fun challenge after years of being the well-known market leader in DNS Networking)
  • Lead and inspire a team of communication professionals and manage day-to-day corporate communications functions, including message development, corporate announcements, and business narrative and storytelling
  • Work with executive leadership, product marketing, and others to set the PR calendar and create comprehensive – and even provocative – campaigns to advance the company's vision, mission, strategy, results, and culture
  • Drive global communications strategies and plans, including developing pitches and stories, leading product launches, creating campaigns, and executing across multiple channels
  • Manage global PR agencies to deliver breakthrough PR across trade and business press.
  • Write press releases, manage the approval process, and develop bylined articles and other contributed content. Plan media tours and desk-side briefings for journalists.
  • Oversee the Analyst Relations team to ensure Infoblox is positioned as a leader in key industry buyer guides
  • Expand social media reach and engagement, and develop authentic influencer relationships across a broad spectrum of social channels
  • Manage the company blog and write/edit blog entries. Manage outside writers, editors, and designers as needed
  • Develop outstanding executive communications platforms across external communication channels and events that accelerate Infoblox's corporate strategy

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B corporate communications, either in-house or agency
  • Experience writing, storytelling and project managing communication efforts in publicly traded companies
  • Advanced Google & Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Comfort and poise as a media spokesperson; journalist references appreciated
  • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with executives
  • Proven history of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong grasp of best practices integrating owned digital and social assets with earned media and speaking engagements
  • Awareness of and proficiency with the depth and breadth of current communications technologies
  • Experience working directly with journalists, strong attention to detail, and an ability to create processes will be key to success in this role
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise high judgment
  • BA in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or similar. Masters degree preferred

What success looks like:

After six months, you will...

  • Ensure consistency in our corporate narrative through media and other communications channels
  • Have built a calendar of corporate communications events and announcements
  • Earned credibility and the trust of your stakeholders
  • Formed relationships with our global public relations agencies
  • Have formed, stormed and normed a team of communication rockstars

After about a year, you will...

  • Have built a proactive strategic communication plan and strategy
  • Have many articles, analyst reports, social posts and company shout outs to show for your efforts
  • Find new ways to collaborate across departments and with communications colleagues to distribute relevant company information through press releases, financial filings, story pitches to journalists, blog posts, multimedia content, presentations, bylines and other channels to keep our tactics innovative
  • Brought your storytelling and creativity to our messaging as it evolves

We've got you covered:
