Chief Data Platform Architect

Key Role:

Lead the Data Platform Engineering team to help build state of the art data platforms for our government clients, using cutting edge cloud focused technologies and architect services and features, coordinating the implementation and operation. Author, review, and approve data requirements and designs of the Data platform and data engineering domain, including ETL, data movement, and pipelines, business intelligence, and analytics. Architect applications that use the data housed on the platform and design cloud and data modernization for legacy and new systems. Advise on alternative architectures to support needs and advise on roadmap implementation plans and coordinate with the Solutions teams to implement or support projects. Support the customer success team to resolve issues and address new requirements, managing platform costs. Work with business units to understand business objectives and how to leverage the data platform and tools to achieve those objectives. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in designing solutions that meet business and IT needs, creating Data Platform and AA /AI roadmaps, and ensuring long term technical viability of new deployments
• 5+ years of experience establishing enterprise-wide Data Platform architecture, frameworks, design, and development standards to streamlines across programs
• Experience with Micro soft Azure cloud-computing infrastructure solutions
• Knowledge of Data Platform Cloud solutions, Micro soft Azure platform, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure DataBricks, Azure Synapse, PowerBI, Azure Key Vault, Azure DevOps, Azure AD, and Azure Monitor
• Knowledge of large-scale datalake, bigdata, and Machine learning solutions
• Knowledge of monitoring health of the platform and the system details within the platform, including data warehouse storage and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
• Ability to document the data architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the platform
• Ability to select and implement the appropriate data platform tools and systems to support data technology goals
• Ability to design, develop and manage large-scale complex data engineering pipelines and data governance models
• Bachelor’s degree in Te chnology, Engineering, or Computer Science

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of government public health data architecture and systems
• Ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
• Master's degree
• Azure Solution Architect Certification
