Job Title / Role: Software Architect

The best way for the mining companies to confront the major challenges such as declining ore grades, safety concerns and volatile commodity prices is to improve operational excellence and embrace technological advances and innovations. Cutting-edge solutions are the way forward and that means to define sustainable enterprise digital architecture, select appropriate technologies and ensure seamless integration.

Although individual systems are expected to generate gains by themselves, only a proper integration of those technologies can unleash the full potential of digital transformation. Based on this principle, Siemens has developed a holistic architecture concept to support mining customers to implement digital solutions, with a strong focus on eliminating data silos and increasing collaboration across different departments such as engineering, operations, planning and maintenance. The ultimate target is to create a fully integrated ecosystem, based on the following pillars:

· Vertical Integration from field level to enterprise management level

· Horizontal Integration from engineering to operations

· Continuous improvement process enhanced by digital applications

The successful candidate will be expected to implement projects for XHQ solution application support and delivery enhancement including:

• Implementation of Data Visualization Solutions based on XHQ (training will be provided by Siemens)
• Understanding of business intelligence workflows; able to model/create these workflows and displays in the XHQ tool
• Work with the Client to perform modifications and/or configuration changes that may be required in his data structures and/or IT environment.
• Work with the Client in the development of project standards and style guides.
• Participate in the development of tools and applications to support the Clients solution

• Candidates with a Bachelors in Engineering (electrical, chemical) or in Computer / Information Science are preferred.
• Previous experience in mining projects related to mining operations and enterprise operations management would be advantageous
• Working experience with business intelligence software
• Exposure to architecture, development, and integration of process-related information systems
• Exposure in performing Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test, exposure to various corporate cultures (e.g. with major corporate players)

• Development experience on Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, XHQ.
• Basic knowledge of Data Modelling, with some demonstrated hands-on experience
• Exposure to Data Visualization and dashboard design and development
• Knowledge of XML and SVG, exposure to XML parsers and XSLT
• Exposure developing Web Services-based applications (SaaS), development experience with relational databases and SQL, especially Oracle and MS SQL Server
