Job Description

Eaton Corporation’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is seeking an HR Business Partner. This is an onsite position based in either Syracuse, NY or Highland, IL.

Position Overview:

The HR Business Partner will provide functional support to the division’s Sales/Marketing and Engineering teams, including leading in the development, implementation and administration of HR policies and programs to support the business and operational objectives. This role will provide leadership to a broad array of HR generalist activities including but not limited to: assessment & selection, manager and employee onboarding, reporting & analytics; and performance management.

Essential functions of the role include:

  • Serves as a key point of contact for employees to connect with the human resources department, while promoting Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees
  • Leads various employee relations activities such as management coaching, conducting investigations, and supporting the performance management process
  • Lead salaried talent acquisition and management activities, including building and maintaining a successful internship program, diversity and veteran outreach, and serving as a liaison with Eaton University Relations team
  • Strengthens employee retention and engagement through establishing the standard onboarding and orientation processes with integrated efforts from various functions
  • Build organizational capability by supporting the Eaton talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives in areas such as succession planning, organizational capability reviews, mentorship program, leadership development training, and performance management
  • Provide interim HR leadership support to Crouse-Hinds/B-Line manufacturing plant(s) in the event of a vacancy
  • Coach and influence leadership regarding policies, practices, laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture.
  • Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinates benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes
  • Generates and analyzes regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes
  • Facilitates and participates in company-wide committees in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as wellness, community involvement, and inclusion & diversity initiatives
  • Partners with HR Services to complete wage assessment and develop market adjustment proposal (if required
  • Facilitates the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations
  • Prepares and distributes HR related communications

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 4 years of increasing responsibility in a progressive HR environment supporting global functions and/or manufacturing operations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business or Human Resources from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience providing support to functions including Sales, Marketing, Engineering
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR or SPHR certification

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to progress to more senior levels of the Human Resources function
