We are getting ready to launch and scale an internet security service startup that will transform cyber security. The vision is to bring into market a never before seen security service for businesses. The business will be spun out of BCG Digital Ventures in 2022 and is financially backed and operationally supported by industry leaders and BCGDV. This startup is well positioned to disrupt the $132B cyber security industry and targets to touch every business, infusing cutting edge technology into an industry primed for innovation.

We are looking for an exceptional Staff Software Engineer to join the team and develop innovative software products for this disruptive startup in the cyber security space.

In your role as a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

• Build responsive, mobile friendly and beautiful web applications and browser extensions
• Create web services and APIs for consumption by mobile and web platforms
• Implement new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers, UI/UX experts, and fellow engineers
• Contribute to a future-ready, high quality, and performance code base
• Share your technical solutions and product ideas with the team

A successful Senior Software Engineer for this venture should have:

• 5+ years software engineering experience
• Professional experience with cross browser development in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari and/or IE browsers .
• Understanding of browser extension delivery mechanisms such as Chrome Web Store, Firefox Addons, Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and Apple App Store
• Professional experience with HTML and CSS including solutions around browser quirks
• Professional experience with Javascript and with one of the major frameworks (React, Backbone, Angular)
• Strong attention to detail and passion for writing clean, reusable code
• An interest in sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers as the team grows
• Knack for product and UX thinking, ability to partner closely across disciplines with Product Management and Design
• Passion for online data privacy and security
• Experience in interfacing with service-based architectures and/or micro services
• Experience in data persistence and caching concepts using both SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g.: Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc...)
• Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc...)
• Enough DevOps experience to setup, configure and maintain your own dev/build environment. (Preferred but not mandatory)
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
