About The Role & Team

As the Vice President of Product Marketing, you and your team will be at the center of our efforts to bring Amplitude to more teams across the globe. We’re looking for a seasoned leader who has experience building strategic teams that can partner with product leadership, build a world-class product launch engine, and guide GTM strategy through strategic positioning, market definition, demand and field support. Your team will serve as the internal experts on the customer, product, competitors, and our market position to inform product development. Your team will equally act as a bridge to help activate GTM teams around campaigns, and drive adoption, revenue and customer love. Reporting to the CMO the ideal candidate will have a strong track record with high-growth B2B SaaS companies and demonstrate readiness for the next level.

As the VP of Product Marketing, you will lead:

  • Category positioning and Product/Market fit strategy
  • Product, Solution, Industry and Competitive Intelligence
  • Product Messaging and Value Proposition
  • Audience framework, ICP and Personas
  • Technical Marketing (demos, tours, trials, ROI calculator, maturity and capability index)
  • GTM content packaging, enablement and activation
  • NPI process and Integrated Product Launches
  • Market Evangelism

What You'll Achieve:

  • Foster a deep understanding of our users and customers, and help evangelize that understanding with leadership and partner teams
  • Position Amplitude as a leader in a large and complex market. Help articulate what we are, the value, differentiation, and our unique vision of the future.
  • Develop a clear GTM strategy that translates our product's power into compelling solutions that accelerate product adoption and grows our revenue.
  • Partner with enablement to empower our sales and customer success team with playbooks, customer stories, competitive positioning and a strong feedback loop between sales and product.
  • Support Analyst, PR, awareness and demand initiatives with content, materials, and strategic messaging.
  • Lead and scale an incredible team. Nurture a strong team of product marketers who are strategic leaders and execution machines, and who can act as organizational drivers.

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

  • 15+ years of product marketing experience, preferably in SaaS with a combination of PLG/Enterprise focus.
  • 10+ years leading impactful teams of 10 or more.
  • Strong and proven strategic savvy, especially on category creation/positioning and defining product market fit.
  • Hands-on experience using Product analytics such as Amplitude is a plus.
  • Strong demonstrated partnerships with product and sales leaders. You are able to point to moments when you have influenced the product strategy and times that you have helped drive a revenue number.
  • The ability to distill complex information into understandable, actionable, persuasive messages and strategies.
  • Customer-centric with experience in generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using those insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • A strong bias to action and sense of curiosity. As a fast-growing company, everyone’s scope is broad, and we’re always doing something new.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills. Experienced public speaker.
