Staff Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure

Job Description

The Data Infrastructure team at WePay is responsible for all things data and drives the strategy for stream processing, data exploration, validation, and integration. We utilize and contribute to existing open-source technologies like Kafka, Debezium, Airflow and also build our own as needed. As a member of our team, you would spend time identifying and executing on new use cases of data infrastructure, designing and scaling our existing infrastructure, and working closely with other teams to promote the optimal use of data at the company!

What You'll DO:

• Innovate, design and build data infrastructure systems, services, and tools at scale to handle new WePay products and business requirements
• Develop robust, well-instrumented near real-time stream processing data pipelines that can scale to handle WePay’s future growth and adhere to SLAs
• Build and execute on the roadmap for the data infrastructure team
• Build frameworks and services which will be used by other engineering teams at WePay to manage their own data use cases and power customer experiences
• Work cross-functionally with various engineering, data science, and analytics teams to identify and execute on new opportunities in data infrastructure

What we look for:

• MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 7+ years of development experience
• You are passionate about engineering and operational rigor
• You are open-minded, flexible, and have a pragmatic approach to solving problems
• You can take complete ownership over the entire project, taks or bug and drive it to completion comfortably
• You are passionate about data processing and analytics technologies
• Experience building scalable and efficient data processing systems
• Experience building, operating, and troubleshooting real time, batch processing and interactive analytics systems
• Programming experience in Java & Python.

Base Pay/Salary

• Palo Alto, CA $137,750 - $225,000
