Netflix is looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Boss Fight Game Studio team. We are part of the larger Corporate Engineering organization at Netflix which also consists of Employee Applications (internally, custom-built apps). Corporate Engineering’s mission is to innovate, engineer, and provide technical solutions that are scalable and secure to optimize employee productivity. As a Systems Engineer at Netflix, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day requests that can come in via tickets, email, chat, and automated alerts. You will also act as an escalation point and provide support to our Nerds team. Working in conjunction with our Boss Fight Technical Support IT Manager, you support the needs of our Game Studio Technology environments and ensure that our system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and other technical solutions are scalable, secure, simple to use, and meet the needs of our growing global employee base. You're highly specialized and work directly with internal and external partners to ensure the high reliability of our systems and services as well as compliance with our company security policies. We are looking for a team player who balances individual responsibilities, gives and welcomes feedback, and exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for day-to-day operation via chat, tickets, and email
- Respond to and resolve requests quickly and efficiently
- Google G Suite administration
- Contribute to and maintain system standards (Endpoint and Cloud)
- Manage and maintain Active Directory (Domain controllers, GPO, health, etc.)
- Manage Windows server infrastructure in AWS
- Contribute to and maintain FortiGate/Junipers Firewall
- Participate in team on-call rotation
- Management of enterprise SaaS applications such as Service-Now, Zendesk, Slack, and Airtable
- Work with a team of senior systems engineers on critical projects
- Create and update documentation
Preferred Experience:
- 2-3 years of Systems Administration
- Experience in FortiGate/Junipers/Cisco Firewall
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing a G Suite environment
- Experience with Google Apps Script, Java, JavaScript, Python, Powershell, etc
- Proficient in Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, and Linux
- Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching (physical and virtual)
- Understanding of AWS infrastructure, instance deployment, and administration
- Experience supporting and integrating Cloud and SaaS Applications
- Understanding of REST APIs and how to consume them
- Experience working in accordance with SOX and/or PCI compliance
- Experience with VMware enterprise infrastructure
- MDM management administration
- Microsoft Azure and Office 365 experience a plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- A self-starter that shows initiative and takes action
Location and Travel
- This is a hybrid role: about 60% work from home and 40% from the office. As such we are looking for someone near one of our offices. We have offices in Dallas, Austin and Seattle.
- There will be a significant amount of travel between our offices: 25%-35%
