Job Description

This position within the NA finance and business management team supports the annual budgeting, OPEX management and monthly estimate deliverables for one of our brand clusters. This role will support the Finance Director to focus on evaluating brand strategies around drivers of gross margin and A&P expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the planning, analysis and reporting of critical lines of the brand P&Ls with a focus on Advertising & Promotions investment. Additionally, help monitor other OPEX lines, and work with various teams to understand variances.
  • Partner with Marketing team in developing, evaluating, and monitoring investment choices in Advertising and Promotion to ensure the brand investment delivers optimum return in line with brand strategy.
  • Be able to understand spend trends, and answer to variance, whether it is timing related due to the Marketing calendar or change in Strategy.
  • Take ownership of the entire Advertising & Promotions line and conduct monthly meetings to review spend with the Marketing teams and develop balance of year estimates.
  • Support the director in ensuring the A&P budget remains in line with expectations and keep open communication with the Marketing teams for full transparency and support to the Brand.
  • Manage and prepare the monthly marketing deck reconciliation for the brand and support as part of the monthly close and estimate process.
  • Act as the main contact for the Marketing teams to address concerns or answer questions from the team (i.e., budget coding, budget confirmation, detailed actual spends, etc.).
  • Leveraging resources within the NA controller team, perform the month end closing process, preparation of journal entries if required.
  • Support the Finance Director in the Plan, Estimate and Analysis of cost of goods and provide recommendations for continued improvement in gross margin.
  • Involvement in North America Regional projects like Strategy, Planning and Ad Hoc analysis.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Position requires 3-4+ years of related work experienced.
  • Experience in a fast-moving consumer products industry.
  • Ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional consensus and strong communication and presentation skills necessary.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial reporting systems; Hyperion & SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills required to perform value added FP&A functions.
  • Knowledge of accounting a plus to help with month-end closing and working with the NA Controller.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadline and to multitask.
  • Proactive individual looking to continuously take on additional responsibility and improve processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
