Job Description

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.

Position Overview:

As the Purchasing manager, you will Exhibit expertise in purchasing practices in commodity management and leads others to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost. Identify new suppliers, negotiate price, analyze trends, and expedite orders within functional area of responsibility. Supervise and mentor direct buying reports.

In this function you will:

  • Acts and applies skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers (, creates problem solutions, settles disputes, develop win-win resolutions, and creates positive relations with tact, diplomacy, and expert judgment.
  • Drive Supplier accountability for DPPM, OTD, and Cost out to make sure Eaton Beltsville is Successful
  • Possesses expert knowledge in the applications of data analysis and tools for process improvements.
  • Creates process channel opportunities for acquiring materials and/or services to ensure delivery requirements for commodities and/or service customers.
  • Possesses expert knowledge and applications skills in the value chain process; and is recognized as an expert in analyzing and interpreting cost drivers when developing cost out strategies.
  • Creates innovative approaches for utilizing and applying project management tools and techniques for procurement applications.
  • Mentors, trains, advises, and manages performance expectations through TALENTHUB for less senior buyers.
  • Prepares reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals.
  • Oversee all supplier recoveries in critical situations to ensure Eaton’s needs are meet and provide communication back to Material Management, Customer Service, and Production

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Supply Chain Role
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficient in the development and tracking of internal metrics.
  • General knowledge of ERP and procurement processes. (MFG PRO, current ERP System)
  • Strong communications and customer care skills when interacting with both internal and/or external customers.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain and purchasing reporting systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Eaton commodity products and supplier resources.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain and purchasing requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of quality assurance and reporting accuracy.
  • Expert knowledge and applications skills of process improvement.
  • Process Certifications (CPIM).
  • High Level Computer Skills (Excel, One Note, MFGPRO).
  • Eaton MOP expectations and skills.
