Description:The PAC-3 Product Manager leads and manages the PAC-3 production programs in Chelmsford, MA. Oversees multiple product lines and ensures production deliveries and targets are achieved. Provides tactical and strategic direction, coordination, communication, and leadership to cross-functional teams to ensure the site meets/exceeds quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Acts as the primary interface with internal and external customers in support of production, development, and transition-to-production activity. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. The incumbent will monitor performance and develop resolutions to meet quality, cost, and schedule goals and provide performance status and progress to all levels of the team. Ensures the development of mechanisms for monitoring production progress and for intervention and problem solving with product managers, line managers, and stakeholders.
Incumbents are generally experienced in leading manufacturing/product/program operations and are able to present team progress to all organizational levels of leadership. Understands and performs a variety of cross-functional operations including production management, long-range planning, manpower & capacity planning, cost account management, quality management systems – including chairing of Corrective Action Boards, use of SAP/MRP systems.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position. The position is located in Westford, MA, an office which supports the Chelmsford site.
The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of the city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern New Hampshire.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with at least 12 years or more of professional experience; or at least 10 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and also an interim secret prior to start.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicting priorities with complex resource constraints
- Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate to multiple organizational teams and levels.
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience and/or training
Desired Skills:
- Proven ability to work through problems quickly and effectively; establish level of engagement required and define the timeline to resolution
- LSS Greenbelt Certified
- Production Lead or Program Lead or Development Lead experience, including task planning, budget management, and subcontract management
- Earned Value Management Experience
- PMT/ELC Experience
- Self-Starter Personality; Ability to multitask
- Experience with product affordability and digital transformation
- Proposal or Basis of Estimate (BOE) Experience
