Job Description

Description:Perform all the duties required to receive, process, store, issue, ship, and control hazardous and non-hazardous materials and equipment flowing through the LM SWF Warehouses, the Small Ordnance Magazines (SOMs), and designated Missile Motor Magazines (MMMs). Certify shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, flight hardware, and support equipment for off-base destinations.
Perform preventative maintenance functions for assigned on-base transfer containers. (SWFPAC Only)
Certify shipments of hazardous materials, flight hardware, and support equipment for off-base destinations, including shipments of explosive ordnance, complying in strict detail to applicable federal, military and state regulations governing packaging and transportation of such items.
Receive, ship, store, package, issue, and control hazardous and non-hazardous materials associated with the supported FBM program.
Prepare reusable Packaging Data Sheet (PDS) containers for use or shipment. Perform functional adequacy inspections.
Pickup and deliver materials as required and package items for shipment, storage or transfer.
Stock, kit and issue material and process-controlled inventory receipts, issues and associated paperwork in accordance with established procedures.
Perform material location maintenance, scheduled inventories, and location changes as necessary.
Package and unpackage major missile segments, such as Equipment Sections, Nose Fairings, and Interstage Assemblies and perform other (or associated) handling, as necessary.
Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced employees in the performance of duties described.
Perform routine warehouse functions such as checking nomenclature, quantity and other descriptive information for accuracy and agreement with related paperwork. Stamp, mark, count, sort, shelve and stock items in accordance with procedures.
Ability to perform duties in support of the Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) as necessary.
Monitor and maintain Net Explosive Weight (NEW) limits on Small Ordnance Magazines (SOMs). (SWFPAC Only)
Perform inspection duties related to SAP Sig-Certs on DD250s and DD1149s, stamp Container Hardware Identification Tags (CHITs) and Availability Designation Tags (ADT). (SWFPAC Only)
Perform Building surveillance to include but not limited to maintain temperature and humidity recording devices, launching and downloading HOBOs, and launching humidigraph (Foxborough or similar). (SWFPAC Only)
Identify items found to be discrepant or unacceptable and seek proper disposition as required; prepare necessary documentation for disposition of such items (e.g. TFIRR, ADT). (SWFPAC Only)
Perform prior-to-use inspections of PDS containers and on-base transfer pallets and containers. (SWFPAC Only)
Backdate consumables and make changes to Flying A labels as updated by Q-Notes in SAP. (SWFPAC Only)
Basic Qualifications:
Must be able to and maintain appropriate licenses, certifications and proficiency pertaining to all tasks associated with warehouse operations including: ability to certify, package and ship hazardous materials, handling explosives, operating bridge cranes, and material handling equipment.
Knowledge of operations of the LM SWF warehouses, Small Ordnance Magazines (SOMs) and other SWF facilities.
Knowledge of Company procedures governing warehouse functions.
Ability to use equipment such as portable power saw, drill, common carpenter hand tools, strapping and banding equipment, scales and other tools and equipment used in packaging and inventory functions.
Ability to perform calculations pertaining to volume, distance, weight, and units of quantity.
Ability to read documents and research necessary information in applicable federal manuals and Company documents.
Must have ability to use computers and barcode scanners as required to perform required tasks utilizing a variety of data systems.
Ability to access Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP).
Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications.
Typically requires a minimum of 24 months of satisfactory performance and experience as a Missile Material Handler Senior.

-Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification of Shipment of Hazardous Materials
-Must be a US Citizen
-Cannot be a dual citizen
-Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, with an Interim Secret required to start
Desired Skills:
-Previous Quality and/or Inspection experience
-Previous AMMO-37 or AMMO-62 Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials Certification
-Having a working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and a general understanding of HAZMAT handling and processing
