Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S.
Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a Specialist, Arts & Entertainment Engagement. This job reports to the National Director, Arts & Entertainment Engagement in the Brand and Culture team of PPFA.
Purpose: ● Support the connections of arts and entertainment industry gatekeepers (celebrities, influencers, directors, scriptwriters, showrunners, fashion designers, culture makers, etc) with the Planned Parenthood brand and key audiences through digital and in-person activations which make progress for sexual and reproductive health and rights ● Collaborate with internal and external teams to support cross-functional programs, integrated campaigns, and partnership work across the organization in support of brand awareness, issue advocacy, and rapid response efforts ● Provide administrative support for Arts & Entertainment Engagement team activities
Delivery: ● Support development of Arts and Entertainment Engagement strategy in consultation with the National Director, Arts and Entertainment Engagement ● Manage and track arts and entertainment engagement process and workflow ● Manage and maintain influencer and entertainment partner databases and platforms ● Conduct research and stay current on information regarding key celebrities, creative professionals, TV and film opportunities, cultural events, trends in culture activism, September 2022 influential partnerships that other organizations have managed, etc, with a particular focus on reaching young audiences, communities of color, and LGBTQ+ audiences ● Work with National Director, Arts and Entertainment Engagement in work with content creators to collaborate on sexual and reproductive health storylines in film and TV, by researching potential collaborations, liaising between external partners and internal issue experts (ie. education, health media, policy, etc.), and reviewing scripts for relevant sections to our work ● Track and produce reports on output of entertainment engagement activities ● Manage team’s summer intern (when applicable)
Engagement: ● Manage rapid response influencer requests and other communications to prominent individuals ● Help recruit and serve as internal point of contact for celebrity recruitment in PPFA, PPAF, and affiliate events and activities, including online, in the media, and at external entertainment events ● Manage, and at times create, external-facing arts and entertainment engagement materials, including toolkits, brochures, digital materials, and branded merchandise for gifting ● Work cross-functionally with teams across Comms and Culture; Policy, Campaigns, and Advocacy; and Health Care teams to enhance collaboration across related projects ● Work closely with PPFA legal teams to ensure memorandums of understanding, licensing agreements, grant proposals and other materials are correctly implemented ● Consult with PPFA legal teams to ensure compliance around TV, film, video, and other collaborations ● Prepare briefing memos to prepare key staff and/or celebrities for events and meetings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): ● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience ● 3 years of influencer marketing or communications experience with a track record of executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and loyalty ● Excellent writing skills. ● Ability to multitask, project manage, show attention to detail, and follow-through to completion ● Proactive, results-oriented, self-starter motivated by an interesting and challenging task ● Passion for for the arts and for Planned Parenthood mission ● Strong Diversity Equity and Inclusion lens ● Team player with willingness to roll up sleeves, and dive into work streams TRAVEL : 0-5% The starting salary range for this position is $63,000 - $70,000 . *LI-KM1 Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k.
