Description:Lockheed Martin Energy is developing transformational energy storage technologies that will enable renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, to power our world anywhere, anytime, and at low cost.
This is a full-time position for a systems-oriented engineer to contribute to the development of grid-scale electrochemical energy storage systems. The candidate will define system-level requirements, with responsibility for both electrochemical devices and the balance of plant. The candidate will also ensure that system and sub-system requirements are met through proper design, integration, and test.
Basic Qualifications:
• A BS in relevant technical discipline such as chemical, electrical, mechanical, software, or systems engineering or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of product development experience.
• An effective technical leader who can communicate well to an audience of diverse backgrounds.
• The ability to cross the boundaries of multiple technical disciplines.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Desired Skills:
• Strong preference will be given to candidates who have successfully transitioned industrial equipment from prototype to production.
• Experience in any of the following areas is desired and valued:
o Electrochemical systems, such as fuel cells, batteries, or electrolyzers, and the balance of plant and process equipment used in such devices.
o Power electronics and/or power systems engineering.
o Industrial automation and controls.
o Software development.
o Design and development of safety systems, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
o Certification of such devices (ex. UL, CE, IEEE, NEMA, NESC, etc).
