NEW GRADUATE, SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Are you an up and coming software engineer, graduating in fall 2022 or summer 2023 looking for full-time employment after graduation? Software engineers at SpaceX develop the code that can launch rockets and spacecraft, optimize a satellite constellation capable of delivering internet almost anywhere on earth, or allow us to manufacture advanced hardware quickly and reliably. You will get the opportunity to work on everything from large-scale web applications to complex distributed systems to tiny embedded computing platforms. Here you could find yourself programming in everything from C++ and Python to low level C programming to core application development in C# and Java...which all together enables us to build, launch, and monitor some of the world’s most advanced technologies in the world.

Full-time employment is available with a variety of engineering teams across all company programs including Dragon, Falcon, Satellites, Starlink, and Starship at Hawthorne (Los Angeles), CA; Mountain View (Bay Area), CA; Redmond (Seattle), WA; Starbase (Brownsville), TX; Cape Canaveral, FL; McGregor (Waco), TX. No matter the team or program, you will come in and make an impact right away, working on creative solutions to real aerospace challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop highly reliable and available software systems
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Develop prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Collaborate with other engineers to plan and organize the development of our products
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, math, or STEM discipline
  • Development experience in any modern programming language

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Developed, debugged and deployed software that has been used in real world applications/projects
  • Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentals
  • Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
  • Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & continuous monitoring
  • Full stack development experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
