Role Summary
You will work in a fast-paced environment on an online platform that serves 500+ web & mobile sites globally. Your role will have you working on all aspects of the digital customer experience with Estee Lauder’s range of brands, from engaging customers via digital marketing channels, searching and browsing for products in the online shop and other sales channels, all the way to the customer receiving their order.
This role will lead the collection, management and deployment of product merchandizing information. These processes are critical to ELC’s customer experience, customer acquisition and retention across multiple business units – brand.com, retailers, digital store experiences and travel retail. This leader must ensure that the product assortment can expand at an extremely rapid pace while providing the key product information inputs to facilitate an awesome digital consumer experiences.
This position is responsible for developing the strategies for the processes, systems and staffing and drive the implementation of the Inriver Product marketing cloud platform across business units and region. It will also drive the execution of the strategy and ensure the tactical execution delivers on the strategic priorities developed for all elements of ELC’s product information life cycle. Specific areas of impact include: product data structure planning (taxonomy, attributes, etc.), PIM system business ownership, data collection processes and product data governance.

Key responsibilities
- Define the strategy and the roadmap for product data taxonomy, quality and governance across marketing, reporting and ecommerce across all business units for ELC online and other business units that ingest enriched product data
- Define the new process and organization structure between global and region to drive adoption of the product taxonomy workstream - development and evolution of the product taxonomy strategies to maintain a logical product hierarchy, search and marketing hierarchies, as well as the mapped relations between them.
- Work across product and brand teams to build a flexible architecture to support a taxonomy strategy that refreshes site hierarchies, attribute types and content options to best support ever-improving search and conversion as well drive the vision for flexible hierarchies that will support fast-paced sku expansion and attribution. This includes Search Engine Marketing, Marketplace, Search & merchandizing, Product Management, Retail and IT teams
- Build processes and systems to leverage multiple inbound sources of product information, merge into the new ELC data structures, maintain quality control and manage product syndication to all outbound sources
- Support product content management in Product Information Management (PIM) & Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms as needed for syndication to retailer sites and other channels
- Build process optimizations, content development strategies with our in-house teams and apply best practices for data integration, and delivery of content that is high volume and comprehensive
- Leverage in-depth master data management and PIM knowledge combined with technical data analysis to gain significant insights to maintain and improve product data.
Qualifications - MLIS (Master’s in Library Science), degree in linguistic or on the job experience developing product taxonomy
- 5+ years' experience managing product content, eCommerce/digital content or other equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of experience with PIM (Product Information Management); e-commerce catalog
- Must be extremely detail-oriented, deadline driven and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once;
- Tech savviness with an initiative to learn new software systems quickly;
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and critical-thinking skills to be able to proactively resolve issues and continuously improve results;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required,
- A keen view of the rapidly changing eCommerce content marketing environment including trends, systems, competition and understanding of both consumer ability to juggle multiple projects, connect the dots and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
