Job Description

The Industrial Engineer will oversee and improve production processes at the Large Drives factory in New Kensington, Pa. The successful candidate will support production with safe, lean, and reliable manufacturing solutions and improvements. Engineering proficiency, high attention to detail, and the ability to optimize production processes for maximum efficiency are vital skills for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing manufacturing and/or testing methods; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes improvement projects by training and guiding technicians.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field with 3-5 validated experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with including time and motion studies to improve labor standards and production efficiency
  • Experience with Bill of Material structure to develop and ensure material presentation and efficient organized layout.
  • Experience with plant and equipment layout and infrastructure and ability to creates and documents factory workstation/cell layouts.
  • Ability to perform cost analysis such as return on investment to support improvements and investments such as CAPEX.
  • Experience with development and maintenance of standard work procedures.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Highly hands-on and strong mechanical competence needed.
  • Experience applying problem solving tools & quality assurance methodologies including Plan-Do-Check-Act (A3), 8D, Kaizen, Lean Cell Design, Error-Proofing, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, 5-Why, Ishikawa, etc.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Project management or team leadership experience with proven delivery of improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Facility and Maintenance interfaces and experienced in the aspects of Preventative Maintenance.
  • Experience traveling for benchmarking best practices.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter.
