Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our globally-distributed team here at Customer.io . You will report to the CFO and have a wide range of responsibilities with company-wide impact, including corporate governance, securities, compliance, contracts negotiations, vendor management and strategic initiatives. You will interact with many internal teams and outside advisors to drive the next phase of growth at Customer.io.

Some things you'll do

  • Be the point of contact between our Sales and Customer Experience teams and outside counsel. Working to streamline the sales and contract renewal process on non-standard contracts
  • Be the in-house legal contact for customer, partner and vendor contracts negotiations, and liaise with outside counsel as needed
  • Work with outside counsel to update existing contracts (ToS, CSA, MNDA, DPA, BAA, Privacy Policy, etc) and determining when we need new agreements are necesary.
  • Identify contract management and documents repository system to organize internal documents and bring higher visibility to key terms and dates on contracts.
  • Provide support for the DocuSign e-signature application. Prepare and submit documents for signature, instruction and troubleshooting
  • Legal entity filings and maintenance
  • Assist with trademark filings
  • Point of contact for security questionnaire process to accelerate sales cycle
  • Own and maintain company Security and Compliance policies - including updating and adding materials
  • Working closely with our SRE, IT and People Ops teams to ensure the company remains compliant with all applicable certifications and regulations including audit procedures relevant to SOC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR and other international data privacy laws

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position
  • A minimum of 3+ years of work experience is required as a paralegal in a law firm, government agency, or a complex and fast-paced organization, interacting with high-level internal and external contacts
  • Knowledge of attorney client relationships applicable to the performance of major duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential, and urgent matters with composure, diplomacy, and good judgment
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as a team player in a collaborative environment that moves work toward the achievement of goals
  • Ability to research issues, conduct analysis and develop efficient processes and creative solutions to problems
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

We are offering a starting salary of $100,000 USD depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
