We are seeking a dynamic Software Engineering Associate Manager to join our team! This is a Full Spectrum Leadership position within the NASA Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) Program and the Software Systems team. The team is focused on all aspects of software processes, and software testing. You will be responsible for first line management of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of direct and matrixed team members with a variety of disciplines including software configuration management, software process control, software verification and data validation. You will provide technical and functional leadership to a team of 8-10 software engineers to ensure successful execution to cost, schedule, and work product commitments.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
• Leverage existing team and grow next critical generation of software engineers
• Lead the team to deliver a certified, verified and validated product for all Artemis II and Artemis III software deliveries
• Manage metrics and communication with internal and external stakeholders and customers
• Provide technical guidance to the design, development, documentation, and testing processes of a large, complex, software program
• Lead the software team to define the next generation of software development and test processes to maintain a competitive advantage in future human space flight programs
• Participate in release planning activities, escalation and removal team impediments
• Manage risks and opportunities for the Software IPT
• Coordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development
• Collaborate with program management to plan and execute personnel assignments to match staffing demands

• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated software development or test experience
Desired Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and organizations skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapid pace delivery
• Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, communication and problem solving
• Demonstrated Orion software systems engineering experience
• Experience with complete software lifecycle (design, build, test, validation)
• NASA customer experience
• Spacecraft Systems Engineering experience
• Experience or training in Earned Value Management (EVM)
