Position Purpose:
Lead accurately processes and/or audits of all employee related transactions including new hires, merit increases, wage adjustments, status changes, employee Benefit Plans, bi-weekly payroll processing, separations, and leaves of absence processing in accordance with state and federal regulations. To timely process final payment for Petco's Regions, Corporate office and Distribution Centers as assigned. To provide guidance, knowledge and support including automated systems of HR, Payroll and Benefits. .
To advise and educate employees regarding eligibility and participation in Petco's employee Benefit Plans, including qualifying events, Paid Time Off, employee discounts, Life, AD&D, disability, executive plans, COBRA, and the 401(k) Plan.
Essential Job Functions:
The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:
The majority of job duties are performed while seated in doors with little or no exposure to hazards.
Education/Experience:
Minimum educational background required is a High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED), while an Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Also, have two to three years’ experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or Benefits in a multi-state environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified candidates will demonstrate proficiency in mathematics, computer skills (including MS office), verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of a 10-key by touch. Excellent customer service skills are required, previous experience in a Customer Service environment preferred Basic understanding of an HRIS necessary. Experience in utilizing Workday system.
