The Technology Centre in St. Gallen, as a business unit of the Eaton Industrial Controls and Protection Division (ICPD) in Bonn, focuses on the Development, production and sales support of automation products, Software, and solutions, which are used by well-known machine and plant manufacturers worldwide.

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will lead development related tasks to assigned programs, projects, or subprojects. Utilizing specific Eaton business tools and best practices to successfully finish project in timeline, budget and quality. Being part of a great product development team collaborating closely with production, product and program management.

The products you will work with are designed for industrial automation business like HMI and PLC. Those embedded systems are key to Eaton’s Automation and Digitalisation strategy.

Your key deliverables :

  • Drive engineering projects mainly as New product development, Sustaining, Cost-out and research studies
  • Responsible for the overall management and execution of projects.
  • Autonomously lead project teams with cross functional domains and coordinate all development activities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams.
  • Contribute on the project target definition with regards to the customer needs in cooperation with the stakeholders
  • Planning, in close collaboration with involved departments, of invest, effort, resource and duration that are needed to run the project
  • Coordination of project, monitoring of risks and development of needed counter actions
  • Utilization of Eaton Project Management Methods and Tools (Stage Gate Process)
  • Project reporting to Stakeholders, functional and direct leaders
  • Preparation of key performance Indicators and other metrics
  • Preparation and support to run project gate reviews, presenting risks and mitigations
  • Creation of documents related to the project: Lessons learned, project change management, project handbook
  • Definition and adaption of interfaces inside and outside of engineering
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or Firmware/Electronics engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in project management work
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with new product/technology development projects.
  • Experience in building dashboards and digital tools know-how
  • Proven hands-on experience with electronics devices development, product development processes and validation
  • Experience with distributed teams on multiple international locations
  • Project Management Professional certificate desired
  • Communication-focused soft skills with capability to build rapport within the team, as well as with internal and external partners
  • Full professional proficiency in German and English
