Join Takeda as a Research Scientist where you will work closely with project team leads to develop project strategies and to coordinate work within the Global Biologics organization. You will also upload and track data into data management systems and maintain detailed electronic notebook. As part of the Global Biologics-Biotherapeutic Engineering team, you will report to the Associate Scientific Director and work with the Biotherapeutic Engineering team.

How you will contribute:

  • Set-up and lead NGS workflows, to support antibody discovery processes, using multiple display systems.
  • Requires hands-on execution of sample preparation for NGS analysis.
  • Operate the NGS sequencing platform and all the necessary analysis aspects, leading to discovery of lead candidates.
  • Familiarity with 10X Genomics platforms is an advantage.
  • Support hands-on antibody discovery discovery, using display systems, such as phage and yeast.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • PhD or MS (6+ years experience) in Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering, Biochemistry or similar.
  • Excellent knowledge of NGS-based discovery and analysis for many modalities in addition to antibody/biologic discovery display-based systems, with phage as priority.
  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques and cell culture techniques (yeast, bacterial, mammalian).
  • Experience in protein production and purification.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting automation and liquid handling.
  • Experience with In-silico tools for protein structure modeling.
