With more than 20 brands Estée Lauder Companies is the global leader in prestige beauty, recognized for its skincare, make-up, fragrances, and hair care products. In Switzerland, Estée Lauder has the main Supply Chain Hub for Travel Retail and EMEA.
Due to a replacement, we are now hiring a Senior Data Engineer for our Value Realization team in Wollerau, Switzerland.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will closely collaborate with three team members. Your main responsibility will be to build and maintain data tools, models to support data visualization and analysis which will drive business decisions. You will also have the chance to bring in creative ideas, when starting from scratch, based on your previous experience to shape the future in the world of data at Estée Lauder.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading independently regional cross-functional data projects
• Importing, cleaning, transforming, validating, and modelling data with the purpose to drive business decisions
• Designing and building new data architecture for EMEA Supply chain
• Write and test ETL (extract, transform & load) to make sure the developed data pipelines are reliable and performing according to the business needs
• Monitoring of the automated pipelines
• Partnering with our IT department to deploy new tools and software opportunities for innovation to handle big data
• Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies
• Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
• Collaborating with data analysts and the business

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Bachelor`s degree in computer science/engineering/information technology
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role
• Overall understanding of Supply Chain processes
• Good project management and organizational skills
• Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining in SQL , Azure, Databricks or Synapse
• Hands-on experience in building applications for cloud platforms (Azure & SQL)
• Expertise designing and implementing ETL to build best data architecture models for reporting purposes
• Understanding reporting tools for PowerBI
• Knowledge of SAP HANA is plus
• Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with team members and business stakeholders
• Analytical and structured mindset, solution-oriented and excellent problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills
• Fluency in English is required, and any other European language is a plus
