We are seeking a Design Manager for Apple’s Enterprise Design Lab within Worldwide Developer Relations. As a member of Apple’s Evangelism team, you’ll work closely with 3rd-party developers to help make their apps better and adopt the latest Apple technologies by providing insightful, relevant, and actionable design feedback. This role is all about helping enterprise teams understand how to design and build best-in-class apps and solutions. Applying your experience, creativity, and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, you’ll help developers design apps that are intuitive and delightful. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence how people experience the latest generation Apple hardware and state of the art software capabilities in the workplace. You’ll collaborate closely with developers from around the world to find new ways for people to learn, create, and solve problems. The guidance you provide and ideas you share will directly impact the quality of apps enjoyed by millions of people every day.

  • 8+ years experience in interaction, visual and/or product design
  • Adept at mentoring designers and setting clear, ambitious and achievable goals
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and shipping new products
  • Diverse industry experience working with both enterprise and consumer-focused companies
  • Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • An openness to teach and learn from others
  • Motivated, proactive, outgoing, and comfortable working in a loosely structured organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a professional and credible demeanor
  • Proven ability to deliver clear, compelling and persuasive presentations
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing for Apple platforms (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and/or tvOS)
  • Strong understanding of app development process and Apple frameworks
  • Interactive prototyping and programming experience is a plus
  • Deep systems thinker, able to chart out and optimize complex information architectures
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly proficient with modern design, prototyping and presentation tools such as Sketch, Figma, XD, Keynote, Principle, After Effects
  • A passion for Apple, its products, and its customers is a must

Description

Description In this role you will work directly with enterprise developers to create outstanding apps for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS that use key Apple hardware features and frameworks such as Apple Pay, ARKit, CoreML, and SiriKit. You will be expected to provide sound advice on a wide range of design matters including layout, typography, information architecture, iconography, gestural behaviors, animation, UX writing, accessibility and more. You’ll lead a small team of designers to create platform-differentiated and innovative experiences that make business tools and systems more efficient, intuitive, and enjoyable. You will help lead ideation exercises, translate and synthesize requirements into a coherent product vision, prototype new concepts, architect complex data sets and functionality, and deliver elegant and implementable UI designs. You will help build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional Apple teams and external partners. You will support, mentor and educate Enterprise customers about design principles and process, and help support other initiatives including Apple Entrepreneur Camp, WWDC, Tech Talks, and more. You’ll be trusted to understand and explain Apple’s design system to a broad audience including engineers, business leads, executives, and designers with varying degrees of experience working on Apple platforms. You will be expected to take thoughtful and strategic risks, push boundaries, and act as an advocate for the user. And you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with product stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and engineers to identify new solutions, improving existing ones, and ultimately influence product decision-making.

Education & Experience

Education & Experience Bachelors or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Product Design, or equivalent experience.
