Description:This requisition supports the aircraft modification and heavy maintenance program supporting F-35 program requirements. The modification team will be based at Hill AFB, UT with potential travel requirements at other F-35 locations.
Selected candidate will have experience with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft. Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
Selected candidate will perform low observable (LO) maintenance to include coatings removal and restoration, Panel removal and installation, Structural repairs on metallic and composite components, TCTD's, Modifications, and other F-35 tasks/duties as assigned. Work daily with engineering drawings, technical manuals, structural repair manuals, and engineers as needed to perform assigned tasks
-Will obtain/deliver any required/directed On-The-Job training as needed
-Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
-Must be willing to train and assist in multiple aircraft maintenance disciplines.
-Candidate will have worked with precision measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and standard scales.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist. Will work in hot/cold climates in various facilities on site.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Must have an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
Basic Qualifications:
3 years Aircraft crew chief/Aircraft Plane General/Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist experience/Sheet metal or Structures experience.
Must have been previously awarded a 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate, or Civil service WG-08.
Desired Skills:
Working level of knowledge on Maintenance Information Systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions, Aircraft Forms Documentation, and Supply Chain Management and Process Specifications.
Experience with Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
Fifth generation aircraft Crew Chief or Sheet Metal experience
Heavy Maintenance and/or Aircraft Modification experience.
Recent experience utilizing tools to include but not limited to drills, angle motors, shears, drill press, and pneumatic riveter.
Ability to fabricate detail parts such as shims, splices, gussets, angles, brackets, doublers, stiffeners, and patches - Use shop aids to facilitate assembly and installation as required.
