Job Responsibilities:

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Marketing Automation Director will join the ESI Digital Marketing team to lead and develop the existing automation team's efforts. Tasked with developing strategies that grow automation usage and optimize the performance of automation campaigns, in partnership with cross-functional marketing teams, this role will give the right candidate great exposure within a global organisation that's elevating marketing to the front of its growth plans.

This position reports directly to the ESI Senior Director of Digital Demand but will work very closely on a day-to-day basis with the wider organisation and marketing teams, in particular the Field marketers for each country and the EMEA Digital Director.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, and coach existing team of MA specialists, driving a culture of ownership and accountability and to further develop the marketing automation centre of excellence
  • Manage the workflows and workloads across the marketing automation team, ensuring optimal utilisation and effectiveness
  • Work with requestors, campaign activation managers and the Eloqua team globally to ideate and execute high-performing and automated marketing campaigns
  • Ensure marketing automation best practices and processes are always utilised in any campaign or programme activity
  • Work with team to track individual campaign performance and build an agile process of iteration and improvement
  • Assess, develop and optimise the various lead flows that pass-through Eloqua and into the CRM, identifying points of improvement and areas for automation to drive growth in demand and inertia of the funnel
  • Review and refine nurture and scoring processes to ensure an optimised engagement with prospects
  • Develop the use and optimisation of segmentation and personalisation based on available data points
  • Work closely with the Director of digital demand to ensure clean hand-off between demand gen and demand nurture/conversion
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Generate necessary reports
  • Work with global marketing operations team to ensure alignment and adoption of new solutions and technology as well as providing insights to help inform automation development and optimisation.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to create a shared vision, inspire collaboration, and drive change with momentum
  • Track record of demand-centric decision-making
  • Proven ability to manage in a matrixed organization
  • 5+ years' experience as a department director managing a team of Eloqua or SalesForce.com marketing automation experts
  • Deep and demonstrable knowledge of Eloqua/Marketing automation systems
  • Proven automation audience segmentation and A/B and/or multivariate testing experience
  • Knowledge of core digital demand channels required
  • Demonstrable knowledge of B2B sales process and marketing/sales hand-offs to achieve best outcomes
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with proven project management skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects on tight deadlines and driving meaningful results
  • International business experience is a definite plus. Exposure to working in large, global organizations would be useful
  • Strong working knowledge of performance and operations management
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders inside and outside of the company (e.g. vendor and agency negotiations & management)
  • Knowledge of the HCM/HR/Payroll market would be an advantage but not a requirement
  • Self-motivating and driven to make an impact

  • Exceptional ability to translate business requirements into high-level and detailed functional specifications
  • Effectively plans, coordinates and prioritizes work efforts of multiple groups
  • Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining the big picture of the overall system design
  • Problem Analysis/Resolution - Gathers information on issues to construct options and either make decisions or recommends options to Sr. Mgmt., as appropriate
  • Anticipates, identifies, and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Assigns tasks to appropriate cross functional resources but most importantly owns the follow-up
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff and convey complex ideas
  • Results oriented, proactive and spirit of initiative.
