Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Portfolio BA supports UK Online Production Portfolio. The role carries three main responsibilities;
1. Co-ordinating and supporting a business analysis team of contract BAs to contribute to the work of the Online production team including:
- Leading Portfolio analysis activities and tasks
- Developing and maintaining business analysis best practices and standards, ensuring the application is relevant within the context of the business, the programme of work and delivery team
- BA team leadership responsibilities where relevant
2. Fulfilling the role of lead business analyst across one or more delivery teams or initiatives to ensure business objectives are delivered
- Requirement elicitation, verification, validation and prioritization with Brands and Portfolio Leadership
- Solution validation, aligning with the technical teams on best way to meet the requirements in context of the business and project scope
- Articulate clear business benefits and acceptance criteria for proposed changes
3. Working with the Product Manager and Portfolio Leadership to input and contribute to the roadmap
- Providing analysis to shape new ideas, problems and opportunities feeding into the roadmap
- Ensuring business objectives, benefits, and ROI are well understood and projects align to strategic business goals (OKRs)
- Producing business cases in conjunction with the business teams and financial analysts
QualificationsKEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Decision Making – 10%
- Input into decisions on best alignment of resource to business need
- Enabling decisions by the BA team, production team and ultimately the overall online business regarding business priorities, where there is no time for further consultation and action is required to keep work on track
- Providing guidance on level of analysis required when resource constraints are apparent
Problem Solving – 60%
- Assess impact of proposed changes and initiatives and recommend course of action
- Understand the overall scope of a project or programme to identify when requirements are changing and recommend options
- Analysing alternative solutions to business problems including options which may not require an IT solution.
- Inputting into project risk mitigation
Independence of Action and Accountability – 15%
- Setting and maintaining best practice business analysis standards across the BA team and contractors/vendor partners engaged to support the UK business.
Budget Responsibility – 5%
- Input into wider budgetary conversations and decisions on resourcing, based on road-mapping activities
Leadership – 10%
- Communicate concepts and analysis deliverables to stakeholders at all levels
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with the business and technical teams; be a point of contact in terms of business analysis for these teams.
- Ensuring quality and consistency of business analysis deliverable from the analysis team
